Arsenal decide not to appeal against Sagna red card

Arsenal will be without Bacary Sagna for three matches after they decided not to appeal against his dismissal in the 0-0 draw with Manchester City.

The right-back received his marching orders for a clash with City's Pablo Zabaleta late in the game.

"I have seen it again and there is no way we can appeal. For me it is a red card and we have to accept it," Gunners boss Arsene Wenger said.

"He lost his temper and acknowledges he should have kept control."

City have confirmed they will appeal against Zabaleta's dismissal for his part in the same incident.

Sagna was stupid and I wouldn't be surprised if he was fined by the club for his actions.

French international Sagna will miss Arsenal's FA Cup tie against Leeds on Saturday, the first leg of the Carling Cup semi-final against Ipswich, and the Premier League trip to West Ham.

His place in the line-up for the Leeds game is likely to go to Emmanuel Eboue.

Wenger confirmed he would make changes to the line-up for the game, with a fit-again Kieran Gibbs and midfielder Aaron Ramsey, newly returned from a loan at Nottingham Forest, available to play.

"We will rotate. There are going to be changes, many changes," Wenger added.

"I have somewhere in my mind that I will make changes, but I don't know who will play.

"I believe that Samir Nasri and Robin van Persie could be short for Saturday.

"They have kicks - van Persie on the hip and Nasri on the ankle. It is a question of days.

"They have a chance to recover in time, but I will certainly rest van Persie and maybe Nasri."
