Arsenal's young guns - Wenger's vision
Arsene Wenger shows Theo Walcott, Emmanuel Adebayor and Matthew Connolly his heading skills during training

Why has it taken a decade for Arsenal to bring through a batch of top-class English youngsters?

Wilson: "When Arsene first arrived at Arsenal he said that the technique of English players was not good enough.

"He said it would take him 10 years to bring through the right technique. That's because you already have a good idea of whether there is something special in a kid when he is eight or nine.

"Now, 11 years on, the players are coming through and Arsene has been proved absolutely right. He is a genius."
