Song has won six international caps with Cameroon

Alexandre Song has signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal.

Song, 20, joined the Gunners as a 17-year-old on a one-year loan deal from French club Bastia in 2005 before making his move permanent in July 2006.

The Cameroon international was loaned to Charlton for the 2006/07 campaign but remained with Arsenal last season, making 15 first-team appearances.

Song is generally seen as a holding midfielder, but finished last season playing at centre-back.
