Senderos says the Arsenal players are trying to cheer Eduardo up |
Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos says the injury sustained by Gunners striker Eduardo has strengthened his side's resolve to win trophies this season. Eduardo's career has been threatened by the double compound fracture of the leg he suffered at Birmingham on Saturday.
His reaction impressed Senderos, who told BBC London 94.9: "He strengthened our belief in what we want to do.
"Hopefully we can do something for him, it is something that we are going to take out of this."
The Swiss defender says he and his team-mates know they have a part to play in Eduardo's recovery.
"The operation went really well and he is feeling quite good, so we are all trying to cheer him up and we are all trying to stay with him and keep him in the team," Senderos added.
"I think it is most important that we make him feel part of it and be with him."
The Gunners defender was attending this year's launch of Your Game at the Swiss Embassy in London.
The initiative is a joint venture between the BBC and the Football Foundation aimed at providing opportunities for underserved communities.
