Baptista wants to play a significant role for Arsenal |
Julio Baptista wants to stay at Arsenal but it unsure whether he has a long-term future at the club. Baptista, on a season-long loan from Real Madrid as part of the deal that saw Jose Antonio Reyes go the other way, said: "I want to help the team.
"The idea is to participate as much as possible and at the end of the year evaluate everything and decide if the positives outweigh the negatives.
"I don't want to be just one more player," he told Spanish paper AS.
The Brazilian was a long-term target of manager Arsene Wenger before joining the London club.
But he has made just two starts for Arsenal and appeared as a late substitute during the Boxing Day win at Watford.
And Baptista added: "Arsene Wenger tells me he will wait until I get used to this league, but until I play regularly I won't achieve that.
"But I can imagine myself being here for a few seasons."
