Lehmann had a successful World Cup |
Arsenal keeper Jens Lehmann has announced he plans to retire after the 2008 European Championships. Lehmann established himself as Germany's number one and will end his career in Austria and Switzerland.
The Arsenal stopper told Kicker magazine: "At the age of 36 I am working up to the European Championships in two years time.
"Afterwards, I think that will be it, both with the German national team and as a professional player."
Lehmann has a year to run on his contract with the Gunners but hinted this could be his last season in London.
He added: "We will have to see how this season goes, whether I extend with Arsenal or not. I would still like to play another season in Germany."
Lehmann deposed Oliver Kahn as Germany's first-choice and the Bayern Munich keeper has also announced his retirement from international football.
