Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein is "quietly confident" that Thierry Henry will see out his career at the club. The 28-year-old striker - currently sidelined with a groin injury - has two years remaining on his contract.
Dein told BBC Radio Five Live: "We will be entering into negotiations very shortly. Everyone would like a Thierry Henry in their team.
"We intend to keep him. We will do everything we can to ensure he stays here until the end of his career."
Arsenal have given Henry, who has been repeatedly linked with a move to Barcelona, a deadline of the end of the year to sort out his future.
Dein added: "I am quietly confident he will remain here.
"Any time a player goes into negotiations, invariably, right at that moment, other clubs come into the mix to make life a bit more spicy."
