Wenger says he will not be gagged
Arsene Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger insists nobody will stop him from saying what he feels.

The Premier League issued a statement on Thursday claiming both Wenger and Manchester United Sir Alex Ferguson had called a truce on their war of words.

But Wenger said: "I don't even know the Premier League statement because I have not read it.

"I don't know why I cannot say what I think any more and I feel as free as before to say what I think."

Wenger continued: "If I feel I have to say something I will say it. You know it well enough."

Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein and United chief executive David Gill attended a Premier League meeting on Thursday.

And afterwards chief executive Richard Scudamore said: "Public comments will be limited to pre-match and post-match analysis of the forthcoming fixture."

But Wenger insisted he has no interest in talking about Ferguson.

"I said last week after Bolton that I do not want to comment on that situation any more because there are more interesting things in football.

"I haven't said anything and I just don't want to say anything but it is not because the Premier League tells me."

Wenger also maintained that he is mentally strong enough to withstand any comments made about him.

"I do not say I am not vulnerable," he added. "But I know it is part of the job. I am long enough in the job to live with that."
