Arsenal survived a determined second-half comeback by NK Maribor to win the first game of their pre-season tour. The Gunners looked to be cruising when Dennis Bergkamp and Jeremie Aliadiere netted early goals in Slovenia.
Milan Rakic pulled one back for the home side just past the hour mark before Robin van Persie scored the visitors' third.
The Slovenians had the last word, however, with Rakic netting a second two minutes later.
