Altrincham have re-signed their former defender Greg Young on emergency loan until the end of the season from Blue Square Bet Premier rivals York City.

Doncaster-born Young, 27, only moved to York in August after 106 league games in two-and-a-half years at Moss Lane.

Young will not be able to play against City when the sides meet at Moss Lane on Tuesday 22 February.

There is a clause in the loan agreement allowing York to recall the player after 28 days in the event of injuries.

Young began his career at Sheffield Wednesday before then moving in January 2003 to Grimsby Town, where he spent two years.

That included a three-month loan at Northwich Victoria until he completed a permanent transfer to Halifax Town in February 2005.

He had further loans back at Northwich and also at Alfreton before Halifax's financial problems resulted in his move to Alty in January 2008.
