John Leppard has also revealed that Aldershot are not in financial trouble
Aldershot have named director John Leppard as acting chairman in what could become a permanent appointment.
Leppard, who has been on the board for 12 years, fills the position left vacant by the death of former chairman John McGinty in August.
Leppard told BBC Surrey: "It could well be until the end of the season.
"It could be for longer. We just needed to get a chairman in place to get the club running in the right direction. What we need now is stability."
Leppard added: "With John's demise, and then Gary Waddock leaving, that put all the comfort zones of being a director out of kilter, and it has probably taken us time to come to terms with that."
Leppard also confirmed that the club do not have financial problems.
"As with lots of businesses they need to raise money now and again," he told BBC Surrey.
"And that's where the football club has been over the last two or three years.
"We're all good, pointing in the right direction, and not short of money".
