Aldershot's leading striker John Grant has signed a contract extension until the end of the 2009/2010 season.

The deal comes just days after the Shots lost Jonny Dixon to League One club Brighton and Hove Albion.

Grant told BBC Southern Counties Radio: "I'm really happy here. I want to make history with this club winning promotion and the FA Trophy."

Grant was Aldershot's top scorer last season with 20 goals and has the same number already this term.

Chairman John McGinty said: "We thank John for his loyalty and commitment."
