Aldershot Town midfielder Ricky Newman looks likely to miss the start of the new season following knee surgery. Newman, 36, was due to have an operation for treatment on a cartilage problem with the full extent of the injury yet to be confirmed.
The former Reading, Millwall and Crystal Palace player joined the Shots after leaving Brentford last summer.
Newman's absence will leave a big gap for new boss Garry Waddock to fill if he is sidelined for any length of time.
