Leeds United central defender Tom Lees has joined Accrington Stanley on loan until 2 January.
The 18-year-old will go straight into the Stanley squad for Tuesday evening's Johnstone's Paint Trophy match at League One Oldham.
Assistant manager Jimmy Bell told BBC Radio Lancashire: "He was supposed to have signed a couple of weeks ago.
"He's had a little knock and a niggle but he is fit and ready to go now and hopefully he'll be a good signing."
"It's a position we need to strengthen in. We're a little bit short defensively and with the departure of Paul Mullin it's enabled us to bring one in."
