Accrington Stanley manager John Coleman has made former Port Vale midfielder Sean Doherty his first signing since clinching the Conference title. Doherty, 21, made a handful of appearances for Vale last season after a spell playing in Dutch football.
"To be honest I don't know if we'd have been able to bring him here if we were in the Conference," Coleman told the club's website.
"The benefits of being in the League are already having an effect."
