Craig Brown delighted with Dons win over St Mirren
Craig Brown praised his side's defending against the Buddies
Manager Craig Brown expressed delight after watching his Aberdeen side keep a clean sheet in the win over St Mirren.
"I consider St Mirren a very dangerous team and they have had some excellent away results," Brown said after the 2-0 victory at Pittodrie.
"To beat them is always a hard task and I'm very pleased we managed to do that.
"I'm even more pleased because I don't think Jamie Langfield had a shot to save in the match: so it speaks volumes for our defending."
Scott Vernon fired a double for the Dons as they continued their recent resurgence under Brown.
The Dons manager said Vernon, who lost half a stone in weight during the week because of sickness, was "excellent".
"I'm really pleased for him because we pleaded with him to play," Brown added. "Nick Blackman had a similar virus and couldn't travel; captain Paul Hartley was suspended and Sone Aluko had an injury.
"So, three players who have done well for us were unavailable today.

"That tells us our resources are getting better, although we're not the finished article. We still need more reinforcements.
"Our new player Rob Milsom did very well. It's difficult to come in and play your first game within 48 hours and I thought he slotted in very well."
On a bleaker note, Brown revealed that new signing David McNamee suffered a groin strain against the Buddies and may face a period on the sidelines.
"But we can improvise a wee bit as you can see when we put Rory McArdle at right back; he does exceptionally well there," said Brown.
"We're building a stronger pool and we'll need that."
Brown revealed he would like to add at least one more player to his squad before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
"But that depends on availability: we're prioritising now and not just signing anyone," he said.
"The priority for me is a competitive midfielder."
