Brown congratulates his players on a fine win at Easter Road
Craig Brown dedicated his debut victory as Aberdeen manager to the fans that made the journey to Easter Road.
The Dons moved off the bottom of the Scottish Premier League thanks to goals from Yoan Folly and Scott Vernon against Hibernian.
"This team has lost seven games in a row but we had a fantastic travelling support," said a delighted Brown.
"I said to the lads 'these guys want to be proud of their team and we've got to make them proud'."
Folly tapped Aberdeen in front on 36 minutes, following an excellent break from Vernon and the striker bundled in the winner after Derek Riordan had levelled for the home team.
"We never looked at the table, we never talked about the table," Brown told BBC Radio Scotland after the match. "We just want to get success in each game."
The Dons are now just two points behind Hibs but the 70-year-old former Scotland boss had been worried when the Edinburgh team hit back on the stroke of half-time.
"I thought that might be a body blow because it's such a good time to score a goal and there were a few mutterings beginning to start in the ground," added Brown.
"But we had three great chances at the start of the second half.
"The players reacted well to the setback and showed determination and character."
Paul Hartley enjoyed an excellent game in the middle of the park, the experienced Dons skipper leading by example throughout.
"He was dominant in midfield," gushed Brown. "And I thought the ball he played for the second goal was exceptional. You will not get a better pass all season."
Despite a great start to his Pittodrie career, the new boss plans to tinker with his squad and add to Friday's signing of full-back David McNamee, who did not feature against Hibs.
"We're delighted to come away from home and get three points from what is a difficult place to come," said Brown.
"But we won't sit back and rest on our laurels. We must continue to look at the possibilities in the transfer window in January."
