Davide Grassi aims to make his Aberdeen debut against Motherwell
Aberdeen's new signing Davide Grassi is determined to prove his worth after signing a one-year deal with the Dons.
Italian Grassi, 23, who came through the youth ranks at Parma, can play at left back or in central defence and had impressed while on trial at Pittodrie.
"I've enjoyed my time here and I'm happy I impressed the manager enough to win a deal," he told the club website.
"I can't wait to play my first match in front of the home crowd. Hopefully I'll play against Motherwell on Saturday."
Aberdeen manager Mark McGhee said he was keen to bolster his left-sided options to cover for Sone Aluko's participation in the U20 World Cup.
And the Dons' director of football Willie Miller said the club were delighted to have secured Grassi's services.
"He' s a player who has come through the youth ranks at Parma, so he has a good basis from which to develop as a player," Miller added.
"Davide's a tall and left-sided defender and I know the manager has been impressed by what he's seen of him so far."
