McGhee's side once again struggled to contain Olomouc
Aberdeen manager Mark McGhee rued defensive lapses as the Dons went out of the Europa League with an 8-1 aggregate defeat by Sigma Olomouc.
"It was another difficult night for us," said McGhee after the 3-0 second leg loss at the Andruv Stadion.
"It was an unfortunate first 15 minutes. We conceded clumsy goals. We were beaten by a very good team and we wish them well.
"The pleasing thing was that even when it was 3-0, the team stuck together."
Despite the margin of defeat, McGhee believes his side can take positives from the third qualifying round tie as they prepare to open their Scottish Premier League campaign at home to Celtic.
"I think I could have seen progress in these two games," he added.
"We can learn from the service they got to their strikers and we can try to play the same way as they played.
"We are going to put it behind us and use it as a learning process.
"We are much more ready for the Celtic game than before the last two matches."
