Aluko receives injury boost
Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwood says winger Sone Aluko's injury is not as bad as was first feared.
The Dons' summer signing from Birmingham limped out of Saturday's win over Motherwell but could be back within a fortnight.
Defender Andrew Considine - who also hobbled out of the match with the Steelmen - could be back for the weekend trip to Kilmarnock.
"Just as a precaution, Sone is going for a scan," the manager said.
Aluko has been a revelation for Aberdeen this season and it had been feared he would face a lengthy period on the sidelines.
But Calderwood is hopeful that the 19-year-old - who has scored twice so far this campaign - will be back in two weeks at the most.
"We are hoping it is not too bad," he told the club's website.
"He might miss Saturday and he might be out for two weeks, but we will have to see. It's nothing serious."
On Considine, Calderwood reckons the 21-year-old could feature at Rugby Park.
"Andy's looked a sore one, but he does not need a scan. It is just bruising and he might be back in time for Saturday," he said.
Aberdeen were drawn away to Raith Rovers or Alloa Athletic in the fourth round of the Homecoming Scottish Cup.
Calderwood was disappointed to have been handed a tie away from Pittodrie.
"It is disappointing we have once again got an away draw and it will be a tricky tie whoever we play," he said.
"For the supporters, both grounds are relatively close and I think quite easy to get to.
"Raith are a good side with a good cup tradition. I will be honest and say I don't know too much about the Alloa side at this stage.
"The good thing is that we will be able to watch the replay as well as watching the eventual winner a number of times."
