Calderwood salutes unlucky Dons

Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwood expressed disappointment after the 2-1 defeat by Motherwell at Fir Park.

The Dons boss felt a Barry Nicholson shot had crossed the line, adding that it was a massive turning point as the sides had been locked at 1-1.

"I thought we played really well and it was a great advert for Scottish football," Calderwood told BBC Sport.

"Chris Porter might have been offside for his goal and we've not had the rub of the green too much."

Calderwood congratulated Motherwell on their victory, but said he believed the Dons deserved something from the game.

The defeat ended Aberdeen's hopes of finishing third and securing a Uefa Cup spot.

"We knocked the ball about well on a difficult pitch and sometimes it's just not your day in football," added Calderwood.
