Aberdeen have signed Oldham Athletic midfielder Gary McDonald on a pre-contract arrangement.
The former Kilmarnock player has agreed a two-year deal with the Dons, after turning down a two-year contract extension with the League One club.
"The lure of returning to the SPL with such a great club as Aberdeen was a major factor," said McDonald.
"I've really enjoyed my time at Oldham, but now I can't wait for the new season to get underway."
Oldham manager John Sheridan was keen to keep the 26-year-old, who scored the winner in the League One side's FA Cup triumph over Everton.
The Irvine-born midfielder has made over 90 appearances for Oldham, scoring 12 goals.
In 2005 he scored for Scotland's Future team in their 2-0 win over Poland.
