Calderwood wants the situation resolved during December |
Jimmy Calderwood appears to be closer to signing a new contract as Aberdeen manager after being promised more funds for new signings. Managing director Duncan Fraser told the Daily Record: "We've come up with an additional 1.4m thanks to the sale of Russell Anderson and other avenues."
And Calderwood added: "I want to stay and we have pretty much agreed on the personal side of the contract.
"I don't want it to drag on into the new year and I don't think it will."
Speculation had arisen about Calderwood's future because of his frustration over his transfer budget.

"We will see what they say about the resources available, but it's great news if there is to be some extra finance to bring in players," said the manager.
"I already have some targets in mind for January, but those might change if there is more money available."
Calderwood is likely to use some of the money to resign some of the 10 players who, like the manager, are out of contract in the summer.
