Bad timing frustrates Calderwood
Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwood
Jimmy Calderwood thought his side controlled the first half
Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwood cursed his side's bad timing after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Hearts.

"Last week, we lost a goal in the last minute and this week we lose a goal 15 seconds before half-time," he said.

"I thought Hearts started well. But, after we changed things round after 10 minutes, I thought we were in control of the game.

"But we lost the goal and I don't think we recovered in the second half, when we were poor and Hearts were better."

Calderwood praised Jamie Smith for setting up the opener for Barry Nicholson.

"He showed great footwork to create the goal," he said.

Aberdeen had lost their opening game away to Dundee United.

"It wasn't as bad as last week, but it's so frustrating when you know how well they can play," said Calderwood.

Looking ahead to next week's clash with Celtic, the Dons boss added: "It doesn't get any easier.

"We've got a point against a good team and we're off the mark, but we know the expectations at this club and it was very disappointing.

"Hopefully, we can give the fans a good surprise next week."
