Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwood blamed stand-in captain Scott Severin for giving away possession in the move that led to Kilmarnock's winning goal. He said: "A player of Scott's quality should not be doing that sort of thing.
"We have been beaten by Hearts, Celtic and Rangers and I was reasonably pleased with the performances in those games, but the standard dropped today.
"If you do not have confidence nor make angles to receive the ball in midfield, then players resort to the long ball."
