Karim Touzani has already visited Aberdeen |
Aberdeen are closing in on 25-year-old Twente Enschede and Netherlands Under-21 defender Karim Touzani. Touzani's contract expires at the end of June and he expects to join the Dons on a one-year contract having been out of favour at his present Dutch club.
"This is a good step for me," he said. "I did not play for one and a half years and I hope to change that."
A Dons spokesman said: ""Nothing is done and dusted yet, but he is one that is likely to happen over the summer."
Dutch Under-21 international Touzani will be a free agent in the summer and was said to be attracting interest from Hull City, RBC Roosendal and Albacete.

"He has been over with his wife looking at the club and the city and liked what he saw so we are hopeful there," added the spokesman.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Derek Soutar's move from Dundee is expected to be completed once he passes a medical and compensation is agreed with Dens Park chairman Peter Marr.
Aberdeen are expected to take on the 24-year-old Soutar's contract and give him a 12-month extension.
He is one of six players who Dundee want to take a wage cut or move on altogether and they have given him permission to talk to Aberdeen.
"He is in a slightly different situation as he only has a year left to run on his contract, but we are talking to the Marrs," he said.
"We are trying to take over his contract, but nothing has been finalised yet.
"But we are not expecting to have any problems with that.
"We are never confident until things are signed, sealed and delivered, but there is no reason why they shouldn't be done."
