Willie Miller has beaten off the likes of Martin Buchan, Alex McLeish, Gordon Strachan and Joe Harper to be voted the greatest-ever Aberdeen player by the club's fans. The former Scotland centre-half came top of a poll designed to coincide with the club's centenary celebrations.
It was announced after Sunday's parade to mark the 20th anniversary of the club's European Cup-winners' Cup final victory over Real Madrid.
After the initial poll, the choice was narrowed to 10 players: Miller, Buchan, McLeish Strachan, Harper, Mark McGhee, John Hewitt, Peter Weir, Jim Leighton and Duncan Shearer.
Glasgow-born Miller, now a successful businessman and BBC football pundit, signed for Aberdeen in 1971 and became team captain four years later under manager Alex Ferguson.
His defensive partnership with McLeish was key to the winning of league titles and cup competitions in Scotland, plus that famous night in 1983 when they defeated Madrid.
Miller played 556 times for Aberdeen and was was given 65 caps by Scotland.
He retired in 1990 due to injury and was Aberdeen manager for three years from 1992.
