2146: Thanks for joining me this evening. All the best!
2145: Highlights of the United-Accies match will be on the BBC Sport site on Friday.
2142: Sue by email to Sportsound: "Unlucky and sickening for the Accies. Although Hamilton are not relegated, the achievements of Billy Reid cannot go unnoticed. Losing James McCarthy and James McArthur were undoubted body blows as is evidenced by (McCarthy in particular) their performances in England. They were the heart of the team who played to their beat. Another SPL team will undoubtedly go in for Billy. I doubt however if they will give him the same backing as the Hamilton board."
2140: It's looking grim for Hamilton but they will surely take plenty of encouragement from their showing at Tannadice.
2136: So United move to within two points of Motherwell, having played one game fewer. Accies? They are in big trouble. Despite their performance tonight, they are seven points away from 11th-placed St Mirren, who have a game in hand.
FULL-TIME: Dundee United 2-1 Hamilton
2134: "You feel so sorry for Hamilton. Billy Reid has got every ounce of energy out of his team." BBC Sportsound pundit Allan Preston
Two minutes into injury-time, Irish striker Jon Daly scores his seventh goal of the season, benefiting from David Goodwillie's assist to slide the ball past Tomas Cerny into the corner of the net.
GOAL! Dundee United 2-1 Hamilton (Daly)
2129: Hamilton's Dougie Imrie finds Jon Routledge with a cut-back but the former Wigan player's attempt at placing the ball in the net fails as he hits his shot over the bar.
2127: "They look like a team who mean business. If this is the start of Alex Neil playing until the end of the season, that will boost them." BBC Sportsound commentator Rob Maclean thinks Hamilton have a fighting chance of SPL survival.
2125: Four minutes to go at Tannadice. Will there be a winner?
2123: "I think Billy Reid really has got to go for it. A win and a defeat is better than two draws. Hamilton need the win." BBC Scotland football pundit Allan Preston has some advice for the Accies manager.
2121: Accies forward Dougie Imrie must feel that he has the beating of the Dutchman, van der Meulen; he skins him in the box but his cross for young Ali Crawford is not so good.
2118: Dougie Imrie is hauled down by Timothy van der Meulen. The United team think the offence happened inside the box but referee Willie Collum awards a free-kick. The home side clear the danger.
2117: And Cerny is the hero for Accies again as he keeps out a shot come cross by David Goodwillie.
2115: Prince Buaben's rasping shot is saved by Accies goalie Tomas Cerny.
2113: "Gavin Skelton's sister, I understand, is an accomplished tightrope walker." Jim Spence refers to Helen Skelton, a sibling of the Hamilton player, who is doing her bit to raise money for Comic Relief.
2111: Morgaro Gomis makes way for Danny Swanson, as United boss Peter Houston tries to liven things up in his midfield.
2107: "They are being made to work hard if they are to get all three points." BBC Sportsound commentator Rob Maclean on United's task.
2105: Alex Neil's season has been almost wiped out by a hip injury. His last game was against Motherwell in October. He is such a key figure for the Lanarkshire side that he could yet be the difference between them staying in the SPL and being relegated.
2104: Great to see Alex Neil back in action for Hamilton. The midfield maestro is on for Mark Carrington.
2102: Bob McNally by email to Sportsound: "Can you ask Biscuits (Allan Preston) to give up his comments about poor unlucky Accies? A game lasts 90 minutes, the table does not lie and they are the poorest team in the league at the moment - fact."
2059: United's David Goodwillie shows great close control and wriggles free from his marker but smacks his shot over the bar when most people were expecting him to score his second of the night.
2058: Grumpy Al fae Perth has sent in a text to say: "The word TEXTED? It bugs the bits off me! Should it not be 'sent in a text'? Another gem is the people who are SAT in the stadium?" Hmm, know what you mean, Grumpy Al, but it takes longer to type.
2055: If United can get the three points tonight they will move to within two points of fourth-placed Kilmarnock with a game in hand.
2052: Arabgirl at Tannadice has sent us a text to ask: "What has Jim Spence got on his head?" We'll do our best to find out, Arabgirl.
2050: And Flavio Paixao's good form continues as he plays in a fabulous ball that is headed wide by Mickael Antoine-Curier.
2048: "It shows you how poor Douglas is in the air. Paixao has won everything tonight." Barry Douglas's aerial struggles with the Portuguese goalscorer has Allan Preston concerned at the start of the second half.
2044: The second half is about to start at Tannadice.
2039: "The second leg will be different. For PSV, a 0-0 isn't the worst result. We'll need to have the same levels of concentration (at Ibrox) that we had tonight." Rangers manager Walter Smith
2037: "He handled it very well. Coming into the final weeks of the season we have to make sure both our goalkeepers are sharp." Rangers manager Walter Smith on Neil Alexander's performance.
2035: "We're very pleased with the result. In our European away games we have made it very difficult for the opposition teams to break us down. We restricted PSV to three opportunities." Rangers manager Walter Smith
2031: As our commentator Rob Maclean says, football can be a cruel game. For 40 minutes Hamilton dominated the first half but they have been undone as half-time approached.
HALF-TIME: Dundee United 1-1 Hamilton
2029: Who knows, maybe the United players heard Allan Preston's warning about the waves of abuse that were about to be directed at them by their own fans?
United get the break of the ball and David Goodwillie smashes a shot in off the underside of the bar to make it all-square in the City of Discovery. That's his 14th goal of the season.
GOAL! Dundee United 1-1 Hamilton (Goodwillie)
2026: "I am sure the Dundee United fans will let the players know they are unhappy with this performance when the half-time whistle sounds." BBC Scotland football pundit Allan Preston
2024: Johnny Russell gets in behind the Hamilton defence, runs down the left but spurns the chance to level the score at Tannadice, trying to pass to David Goodwillie instead of blasting a shot across Tomas Cerny.
2023: Iain in Irvine continues the debate about Rangers' style in Europe: "Some would say boring but I would say a good solid performance from the away side."
2021: United have five games to play in 13 days - maybe they are pacing themselves.
2019: "They've got 10 cup finals until the end of the season and this is the first one." BBC Scotland football pundit Allan Preston sums up Hamilton's challenge to avoid relegation
2018: Jon Swift in East Linton on the PSV-Rangers game: "Dull, boring, tedious, and above all 'tiresome' - and that was just the home team."
2014: Dundee United just haven't got going in this match. Is fatigue a reasonable excuse for Peter Houston's men?
Simon Mensing knocks Dougie Imrie's corner back across the goal and Flavio Paixao heads the ball past Dusan Pernis for the opener.
GOAL! Dundee United 0-1 Hamilton (Flavio Paixao)
2007: Gary McDonald goes down inside the box, but gets up without claiming for a penalty for Hamilton. His colleagues are furious with the ref!
2002: Hamilton are running out of games if they are to survive in the SPL. They are seven points behind St Mirren with 10 matches remaining.
2000: It's a busy spell for Dundee United - they beat Aberdeen 3-1 on Monday evening.
1957: Hamilton have started well against United but there are no goals yet in the SPL match.
1955: Ally in Glasgow by text: "You'd have thought by now Rangers' opposition teams would have realised how we play in the knockout rounds of European competitions after our run to Manchester. This Europe League run is starting to follow suit, however we do better when the away leg is 2nd. I don't fancy is at Ibrox against PSV. They will score!"
1953: "They have left it open. It was a decent performance. It's not fair to be negative." BBC Scotland football pundit Gordon Smith assesses Rangers' Europa League hopes
1951: DUNDEE UNITED TEAM TO FACE HAMILTON: Pernis, Watson, Dillon, van der Meulen, Douglas, Scott Robertson, Gomis, David Robertson, Goodwillie, Shala, Russell. Subs: Banks, Daly, Swanson, Buaben, Kovacevic, Allan, Armstrong.
1949: "They've done it again! Very, very comfortable for Rangers. They are in a good position to make the last eight." BBC Sportsound anchor Richard Gordon.
FULL-TIME: PSV Eindhoven 0-0 Rangers
1948: Madjid Bougherra heads clear and Gregg Wylde takes the ball on a 30-yard run.
1946: Three minutes of injury-time.
1945: Well, the serried ranks of Rangers players behind the ball in the first half has matured into a more confident side in the second. They deserve to take something from this game.
1945: I'll bring you the team news from Tannadice asap. I'll finish things off here first.
1944: Wilfred Bouma heads over the bar. Rangers hold steady.
1943: Another corner for PSV...
1942: Four minutes left in the Netherlands.
1940: Bill in Bermuda agrees with Mark at 1930: "Well said, Mark. When you get teams into Euro competitions by all means have your say. Otherwise zip it."
1939: PSV have their sixth corner of the game. It is knocked past Neil Alexander's post and Rangers breathe again. Good defending by Ricky Foster to concede the corner in the first place.
1938: Rangers get back in numbers and Steven Whittaker manages to block a thunderous shot from 20 yards by Balazs Dzsudzsak.
1936: Kyle Lafferty's last contribution before being subbed for Gregg Wylde is a shot on the turn from 18 yards that flies four yards wide, the culmination of more expansive play by Rangers.
1935: Vladimir Weiss wriggles this way and that in the PSV box, falling in the box twice as Rangers go at the Dutch.
Kyle Lafferty picks up a rather soft booking for halting the run of Jeremain Lens.
1930:Mark in Stirling would like to make a point. He has emailed Sportsound to say: "To all those people criticising Rangers' negative styles. We'll carry on being defensive in the latter stages of European competitions while the other Scottish teams can be attacking in the qualifying rounds. Deal?"
1929: Steven Davis looks to be playing somewhere near his best form. I'd love to know how many passes he has made. Not quite Xavi, but he relishes being on the ball.
1927: Chance number four for PSV is missed, incredibly, by Marcelo who heads Balazs Dzsudzsak's cross a yard wide of goal from six yards out. Talk about a head like a sheriff's badge...
1924: Rangers have 20 minutes to hang on for a goalless draw...or snatch an away goal.
1922: The Dutch fans are upset that their team are not awarded a free-kick on the edge of the box when Ricky Foster challenged Jeremain Lens. The PSV man seemed to go down in slow motion - hang on, that was the TV replay...
1921: "Rangers are sucking the life out of PSV." BBC Radio Scotland football pundit Billy Dodds.
1920: Rangers make a change: Vladimir Weiss comes on for El Hadji Diouf.
1917: Kyle Bartley shows his defensive skills this time, alert to the danger as PSV break through the middle.
1916: Steven in Edinburgh, by email to Sportsound: "Another anti-football performance by Rangers, not exactly an enticing advert for Scottish football but effective away from home none the less. Problem is, Rangers play the same at home, hope not!"
1914: Steven Whittaker adds to the sense of Rangers building momentum - his low shot slides past the post, though.
1913: Rangers go agonisingly close to taking the lead when Kyle Bartley heads El Hadji Diouf's corner at goal but his powerful effort is tipped round the post.
1911: Stanislav Manolev appeals for a penalty for the challenge by Kyle Bartley - nah, he dived upwards rather than towards the turf!
1908: PSV carve out their third clear-cut chance of the match, as Marcus Berg screws a shot just past Neil Alexander's right-hand post. A lovely ball through to him there by Ola Toivonen.
1906: From now on I think I'll refer to Rangers defender Ricky Foster as "Brendan" - his famous namesake would have been proud of that turn of pace to break down the left and cross in to the box.
1904: Kyle Lafferty shows a lovely piece of skill to beat two players deep in the left side of defence but Rangers surrender possession all too quickly.
1902: Seven Rangers outfield players are camped around the 18-yard line as PSV try to get a precious lead to take to Glasgow for the return leg next week.
1901: PSV kick off the second half in front of about 20,000 supporters.
1900: And another anonymous text describes the action in southern Holland: "Another steady but unglamorous performance for the Gers. Dogs of war."
1858: Uh-oh! An anonymous text to 80295 reports: "It's starting to snow in Perth!" Is it on its way up the Tay to Dundee?
1855: Thankfully, the match in Dundee goes ahead. Although it's mid-March, there's quite a bit of snow about in Scotland today.
1853: Don't forget there's a match in the Scottish Premier League this evening. Dundee United catch up on one of their games in hand when they play Hamilton at Tannadice, kick-off 1945 GMT.
1850: Classic Rangers on the road, you could say. How long can the defence hold out? Or will they get a chance to hit on the break when PSV push forward even more as the match develops?
HALF-TIME: PSV Eindhoven 0-0 Rangers
1846: "Rangers look quite comfortable at the moment." BBC Scotland football pundit Billy Dodds
1843: David Weir and Kyle Bartley exchange passes and release Steven Whittaker on the left, who advances up the pitch. Steven Davis picks up and Ricky Foster helps his team win a corner. Sadly for the Scots, that comes to nothing.
1842: "They've got to make sure they lock it up at the back as we move towards half-time." BBC Radio Scotland commentator David Begg.
1840: That was a close call for Rangers who will desperately want to get to half-time, five minutes away, without conceding.
1837: Madjid Bougherra steams through the back of Orlando Engelaar and PSV win a free-kick. Marcus Berg gets a flick on the ball into the box and Marcelo's header at the back post goes narrowly past the post.
1835: Patched-up Kyle Bartley makes a crucial clearance in his customary defensive position, the ball falls for Steven Davis and he passes to El Hadji Diouf. Rangers manage to string five or six passes together before the ball returns to PSV.
1833: Billy Dodds quips that Bartley's nosebleed is a result of his uncommonly advanced position on the pitch. Joke rating - 8/10.
1832: Kyle Bartley receives an accidental bash on the nose and has to go off for treatment to stem the flow of blood.
1830: Maurice Edu gets the briefest glimpse of goal but his right-foot shot is closed down quickly at the edge of the box and ricochets out for a Rangers throw-in.
1829: Steven Whittaker defends well at left-back, winning two tackles to stem the red-and-white tide.
1827: Rangers break into the PSV half, with Madjid Bougherra on one of his right-wing runs. His ball into the box is powered too far ahead of El Hadji Diouf, though.
1824: When this defensive tactic works - and so far it is working - it looks like a stroke of genius from Walter Smith. But I fear the worst if PSV get a goal. At least it's a two-legged affair...
1821: Jeremain Lens shows a superb turn of pace and no small measure of commitment to chase a ball into the corner and ping a cross at goal - Neil Alexander plucks it out of the air confidently under pressure from Marcus Berg.
1820: "So far, so good but they don't want to be defending for the whole match." BBC Scotland football pundit Billy Dodds
1819: Ola Toivonen looks the business. It was his ball that set up Berg for PSV's best chance a moment ago.
1817: Rangers' defence may be as tightly formed as a nit comb but PSV find a way through and Neil Alexander saves bravely at the feet of Marcus Berg eight yards from his goal-line.
1815: Billy Dodds tells Radio Scotland listeners that "it's a 50-yard pitch" as Rangers are hemmed into defence.
1813: Balasz Dzsudzsak looks lively on the left and his clipped ball towards the penalty spot is well ushered to safety by Kyle Bartley, with Marcus Berg hovering with intent.
1811: Welcome relief for Rangers as Maurice Edu presses the Dutch defence, forcing a hurried pass-back that goalie Andreas Isaksson smacks out of play.
1809: "They need to make sure they are not just lumping it up the park because it will come straight back at them." BBC Scotland football pundit Billy Dodds warns Rangers to retain possession.
1807: Former PSV and Rangers star Arthur Numan believes this match will be a big step up in class for the Scots after their match against Sporting Lisbon in the previous round.
1805: PSV Eindhoven winger Balasz Dzsudzsak runs at Madjid Bougherra down the left wing and crosses into the box. Neil Alexander gets an early touch to end the move and settle the visitors.
1804: "They look a classy team. It's going to be a difficult night." BBC Scotland football pundit Billy Dodds makes an early assessment of Rangers' task.
1802: Rangers, playing in their blue home strip, are already pinned back but look comfortable so far.
1800: And the match kicks off.
1759: A correction on the team news listed at 1752. El Hadji Diouf retains his place in the Rangers team and it is in fact David Healy who drops to the bench.
1754: The PSV team features former Aston Villa defender Wilfred Bouma and striker Marcus Berg, who scored for Hamburg against Celtic in last season's Europa League.
1752: Elsewhere in the Rangers team, youngster Kyle Hutton earns a rare start and Kyle Lafferty returns to action following tonsillitis. John Fleck and David Healy drop to the bench.
1751: Rangers have changed their goalkeeper for this evening's match, Neil Alexander starting and Allan McGregor dropping to the bench. Rangers assistant manager has told BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound that Alexander is starting so that he gets "game time".
1749: Later, we'll be bringing you live coverage of Dundee United v Hamilton, which kicks off at 1945 GMT.
