By Keir Murray

1701: Well, thanks for joining me online this afternoon. I hope you can stay online to listen to Chick Young's programme about the Ibrox disaster of 1971.

1659: Liam McLeod, our hoarse commentator at Pittodrie, points out David Goodwillie's value to Dundee United. His goal today was his 11th of the season; the total goals scored by all others in the United squad is eight.

My Sport
1903 AFC on My Sport: "Unbelievable! Absolutely robbed. Aberdeen deserved the three points without doubt."

1656: That late goal for United means Aberdeen move to ninth place in the league rather than eighth, but they still trail the Terrors by four points.

Full time
Full-time: Aberdeen 1-1 Dundee United

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
David Goodwillie levels the match at Pittodrie, scoring on the turn in the fourth minute of injury time.

Full time
Full-time: Hamilton 0-0 Motherwell

GOAL! Aberdeen 1-1 Dundee United (Goodwillie)

1648: The highlights of today's three SPL matches will be online at the BBC Sport website at 1800 GMT on Sunday.

1646: Dougie Imrie misses the chance of the match with just over two minutes to go. The Hamilton midfielder goes in on goal and places his shot wide of the far post with only the goalkeeper to beat.

1646: There are six minutes of stoppage time at Pittodrie - mostly as a result of Yoann Folly's unfortunate injury.

1643: Motherwell are doing the pressing as the players try to give Stuart McCall a win in his first match in charge.

1642: Four minutes to go plus stoppage time at Pittodrie and New Douglas Park.

My Sport
Aberdeen fan StandfreeFM on My Sport: "Jeepers, we could go eighth?!? We didn't play any better against Hamilton than we did under McGhee, but we found a way to win. Better to be lucky than good."

1638: "Remember, Aberdeen had one win in 14 games when Craig Brown arrived; now they are looking for their third in a row." BBC Radio Scotland commentator Liam McLeod

1631: Chris Humphrey's corner is headed over by Motherwell Stephen Craigan.

1631: The Dons' last home match attracted only 5,000 paying punters.

1630: Jamie Murphy gets in behind the Hamilton defence, sends in a low cross that takes a deflection and Tomas Cerny improves well to turn the ball over.

1630: There are 12,484 fans at Pittodrie to witness Aberdeen's New Firm match against Dundee United.

1628: "Dundee United need to be a bit sharper and they will get something from this game." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Billy Dodds

1626: Terrible news for Aberdeen's Yoann Folly - we hear he has broken his ankle.

1624: Dougie Imrie continues to be Hamilton's most potent threat. The midfielder this time come inside onto his right foot to bend a shot into the midriff of Darren Randolph.

1623: Aberdeen lose Yoann Folly through injury, with Derek Young coming on to replace him in defence.

1621: A new word for 2011 comes from the Billy Dodds lexicon - vb melt. As in, "the full-back just melts the winger there".

1618: Hamilton's Dougie Imrie has another free-kick chance. His first shot is blocked but his rebound volley dips into the arms of Darren Randolph.

1617: The texts putting the boot into Chick Young keep coming in. One from Ray in Edinburgh accuses him of "spluttering rantings". I can't help thinking this notion of Chico not liking Hearts, or not giving them credit, is wide of the mark.

1613: Stuart McCall makes his first substitution as Motherwell manager, with John Sutton coming on for Alan Gow.

1613: Aberdeen's Scott Vernon knocks an effort over the crossbar from four yards out.

1612: "It's scrappy but it's entertaining at Pittodrie." BBC Radio Scotland commentator Liam McLeod

1610: A couple of off-target efforts by Hamilton at the start of the second half, Flavio Paixao and Jordan Kirkpatrick firing over.

1608: Scott Vernon plays a neat one-two with fellow Aberdeen forward Chris Maguire but fires just wide of the Dundee United post.

1607: A sweeping Motherwell counter-attack ends with Nick Blackman blasting a shot over the top of the Hamilton bar.

1606: Aberdeen's Chris Maguire goes to ground in the penalty box after rolling Dundee United defender Paul Dixon, but the referee waves away the claims despite loud shouts from the home fans.

Yellow card
1606: And Jon Daly is booked for leading with his elbow into a challenge.

1603: Of course, big Daly can play at the back as well.

1602: Jon Daly is on for Morgaro Gomis as Dundee United go for a more attacking set-up to try to peg back the Dons.

My Sport
bringthemonjpn has entertained us all on My Sport this season but this one takes the biscuit, relating to the Aberdeen goal: "Craig Brown throws his tartan travel rug off his lap to celebrate the goal. Only in Scottish football..."

Half time
Half-time: Hamilton 0-0 Motherwell

1546: What a transformation at Aberdeen. New boss Craig Brown is heading for three wins on the trot, but United's David Goodwillie and co will have something to say about that in the second half.

1545: Dougie Imrie tries his luck with a 25-yard free-kick and the midfielder's swerving effort is tipped over by Darren Randolph.

Half time
Half-time: Aberdeen 1-0 Dundee United

1543: Barry Douglas takes the kick, which is deflected into the arms of Jamie Langfield in the Dons goal.

1541: Dundee United have a free-kick in an attractive position. Barry Douglas and Prince Buaben hover over the ball.

1538: Dundee United go close to quickfire equaliser when Johnny Russell gets between two Aberdeen defenders to meet a Barry Douglas cross but heads wide.

1537: Dougie Imrie digs out a cross and Flavio Paixao's header drops onto the roof of the net.

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
Aberdeen striker Chris Maguire rounds Dundee United goalkeeper Dusan Pernis after a nightmare back-pass from full-back Keith Watson and slots the ball home to break the deadlock.

1536: Motherwell's Chris Humphrey feeds Nick Blackman, who takes a touch and drives low into the arms of Tomas Cerny. The game is coming to life at last.

GOAL! Aberdeen 1-0 Dundee United (Maguire)

1535: David Goodwillie smacks a shot that goes narrowly wide of the Aberdeen goal.

1534: More pressure from Accies. Flavio Paixao's delightful cross to the back post is headed wide by Gary McDonald.

1533: Dougie Imrie works some space and blasts in a shot, forcing Motherwell goalkeeper Darren Randolph to palm the ball away.

1531: I haven't heard what the attendance is at Hamilton but it looks about half full, or half empty - not great for a derby match.

1530: Motherwell captain Stephen Craigan comes close to scoring his first goal since April 2006 with a fierce right-foot shot wide from the edge of the box.

1528: "Accies, I've said all season, just look really unsure about how to go about the game." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Derek Ferguson

1526: New Motherwell manager Stuart McCall is showing no signs of difficulty in re-acclimatising to the Scottish winter, donning his shorts on the touchline.

1526: Aberdeen striker Scott Vernon is just unable to get his body position right to meet a cross and sends a header on to the top of the net.

1525: OK, which of the four SPL teams is going to be the first to score? My money is on, er... That's a tough one. Aberdeen - a penalty.

1521: Jim Goodwin has been given what appears to be his last warning by referee Stevie O'Reilly after a couple of meaty challenges by the Hamilton full-back.

1520: Haud the bus! Is this a Rangers nine-in-a-row re-union?! Mark Hateley is in the stand at New Douglas Park too. OK, his lad plays for Motherwell, but who next - Andy Goram? Richard Gough?

1519: Gary McDonald's low drive skids into the grasp of Motherwell goalkeeper Darren Randolph.

1518: Nathan from Dundee has texted to say he is losing patience with United boss Peter Houston: "Shocking! We should be 3-0 up by now! Houston to go!"

1516: Spotted in the stand at New Douglas Park - Ally McCoist. Has the Rangers assistant manager been on to his old team-mate Stuart McCall for a free ticket?

1514: Jamie Murphy's dangerous curling free-kick into the Hamilton box is headed to safety by Martin Canning. Still goalless in the Lanarkshire derby.

1513: Snow has started to fall on the Pittodrie pitch. Surely not more disruption to the fixture list?!

1509: Even Steven so far at New Douglas Park with Gary McDonald's blocked volley the closest thing to a chance in the early stages of the match.

1503: The Hamilton-Motherwell match pits the longest serving manager in the SPL against the newest. Billy Reid has been at Hamilton for five years and six months, while Stuart McCall has only been in post a few days.

1502: And the Lanarkshire derby is off and running too. This was the fixture, you may remember, when Accies boss Billy Reid nearly demolished the dugout when he swung on it to celebrate a goal.

1500: The match at Pittodrie is under way.

1459: "Kyle did get booked for his celebration, which was accepted with a very un-Kyle like understanding nod and a shrug." Anonymous text.

1458: "Re 1436. Charlie in Dundee - or Vladimir Weiss last week against Motherwell? Short memories when you're conspiracy crazed." Colin in Edinburgh by text to 80295.

1456: Hamilton make three changes following their 1-0 defeat by Aberdeen, which saw them cast six points adrift at the foot of the SPL. Gary McDonald, Flavio Paixao and Jordan Kirkpatrick come in with Grant Gillespie and Damian Casalinuovo dropping to the bench and Derek Lyle missing out.

1455: Stuart McCall has restored Nick Blackman to a familiar Motherwell starting line-up. Blackman replaces Marc Fitzpatrick following the 1-0 midweek defeat at Celtic Park as Motherwell revert to a 4-4-2 formation.

1453: And Motherwell, under Stuart McCall for the first time, go with: Randolph, Saunders, Reynolds, Craigan, Hammell, Humphrey, Lasley, Hateley, Murphy, Blackman, Gow. Subs: Hollis, Sutton, Fitzpatrick, Forbes, Page, Casagolda, Pollock.

1452: Many miles down the road at New Douglas Park, Hamilton line up with: Cerny, Goodwin, Mensing, Canning, Buchanan, Routledge, McDonald, Skelton, Flavio Paixao, Imrie, Kirkpatrick. Subs: Murdoch, Graham, McLaughlin, Casalinuovo, McAlister, Crawford, Gillespie.

1451: And Peter Houston goes with the following men in tangerine for Dundee United: Pernis, Watson, Dillon, Kenneth, Dixon, Gomis, Russell, Scott Robertson, Douglas, Goodwillie, Buaben. Subs: Banks, Daly, Cadamarteri, David Robertson, Shala, Smith, Armstrong.

1450: Team news from Pittodrie. First, Aberdeen: Langfield, McNamee, Diamond, McArdle, Considine, Jack, Hartley, Folly, Aluko, Vernon, Maguire. Subs: Howard, Young, Pawlett, Ifil, Velicka, Paton, Magennis.

1448: Jim Jefferies adds: "We had the better quality and we were always in the ascendancy."

1446: Hearts manager Jim Jefferies tells BBC Radio Scotland that the win was deserved.

1438: Aw, hang on, hang on. Graeme in Edinburgh has texted BBC Scotland to have a go at Chick Young. He says: "Chick, go and stick a dummy in your mouth and stop showing your hatred for Hearts. All you do is criticise and it's getting boring." Chick has only love in his heart. It's true, you know.

1436: Charlie in Dundee asks: "Is it only Celtic players who get booked for celebrating?" Did Kevin Kyle run into the fans to celebrate?

1434: Hearts are already only five goals short of their league total for the whole of last season, according to Allan Preston, a man who knows these things.

1430: "Feel sorry for Mark Brown. He's worked so hard today, managed to get his hand to the ball but couldn't stop it. Well done Kevin Kyle though." Steve in Irvine by text to 80295.

1429: We hear that a yell of "23 points ahead" from the Hearts dugout did not go down too well with Hibs boss Colin Calderwood who had been heading down the tunnel but returned to remonstrate.

1426: Eight wins and one draw in their last nine league matches for Hearts.

Full time
Full-time: Hearts 1-0 Hibernian

1424: Unless Hibs can draw level there will be a jaw-dropping 23 points between the sides from Gorgie and Leith.

1423: We're almost into the final minute of added time.

1421: The Jambos are loving this, especially on the back of the 2-0 win at Easter Road at the start of November. Tynecastle is bouncing. There were great scenes of the Hearts fans hugging Jim Jefferies and Billy Brown when the goal went in. Painful viewing for the Hibees, though.

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
That was a wonderful derby moment for Kevin Kyle who celebrates heading the ball past Mark Brown from five yards, from a great piece of wing skill by Arvydas Novikovas.

GOAL! Hearts 1-0 Hibernian (Kyle)

1416: Gary Glen misses the best chance of the match. The Hearts fans console him behind the goal as he hangs his head in shame and disbelief.

1415: Ian Black smacks a right-foot shot against the arm of Francis Dickoh, directly in front of goal. The ref says no penalty and the Hearts fans go bonkers.

My Sport
Scottish on My Sport says: "Pure Hoofball... CC's (Colin Calderwood) bottled out of putting MZ (Merouane Zemmama) on."

1411: For Hearts, Gary Glen and Arvydas Novikovas come on for Calum Elliot and David Templeton.

1409: Colin Nish smacks a low shot just past Jamie MacDonald's right-hand post after controlling Derek Riordan's crossfield pass.

1407: Hibernian make a change with Darryl Duffy coming off to be replaced by David Wotherspoon.

1404: The play returns to the other end and David Templeton mis-controls the ball before setting up Marius Zaliukas for a low drive into the arms of Hibs keeper Mark Brown.

1401: Hibs begin to put Hearts under some pressure and corner kick eventually finds its way to Francis Dickoh at the back post but the defender fires the ball into the side netting.

1355: Colin Nish, a boyhood Hibs fan, is thrown into the action by Hibs boss Colin Calderwood. Valdas Trakys makes way.

1354: Rudi Skacel curls a delicious free-kick which is finger-tipped on to the bar by Mark Brown. That was a fantastic save by the Hibs number one.

1353: Following on from below, David Templeton shows the theatricality of Billy Elliot. Having squirmed past two players, Liam Miller halts the young Jambo's progress and Hearts win a free-kick a yard outside the box on the right.

My Sport
Hibs-Beer-CoD-Girlfriend in that order on My Sport says: "Time to get Zemmama on. Game might be a bit too physical but he is the only player we have that can unlock defences effectively."

1350: Calum Elliot ought to have done more than claim for a penalty, which is not awarded because the linesman has correctly called the Hearts striker offside. If only Calum had the timing of Billy Elliot.

1347: I think Hibs midfielder Ian Murray had a plate of raw liver at the bells instead of the more traditional steak pie and potatoes. Ruben Palazuelos was the unfortunate recipient of a savage challenge by him there. He was lucky not to be booked...for a second time.

1346: Steven Thicot heads the ball clear three yards from the goal-line after Rudi Skacel connects with a corner to put the Hibs goal under pressure.

1345: Hearts' Marius Zaliukas resembles a young Alan Hansen as he strides into the opposition half in acres of space...but then he shoots and the ball trundles past Mark Brown's right-hand post. Even I could have done that.

1344: "I think Jim Jefferies and Colin Calderwood will be disappointed with the quality of balls from the wider areas. There have been no decent crosses. Rudi Skacel's use of the ball has been woeful, absolutely woeful." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Allan Preston

1341: Harry, who has texted 80295, is none too impressed with the men in green and white: "Hibs are an absolute disgrace!! Not even trying to play football, just trying not to lose. It's just foul after foul."

1340: We're back under way and Calum Elliot has a snap-shot from close range that Mark Brown saves superbly.

1336: "Has Bamba played his last game for Hibs? I heard he is signing for Leicester. Any info on this? From an anonymous texter. Yep, Bamba is leaving Hibs.
1332: My colleague Liam McLeod is at his beloved Pittodrie Stadium to commentate on Aberdeen v Dundee United. Liam tells us that David McNamee will make his debut for the Dons. Garry Kenneth comes back in to the United defence, but there is no Scott Severin or Craig Conway for the visitors.

My Sport
JJ93 on My Sport says: "This is the worst refereeing I've seen for a while. Intentionally elbowing the opponent in the face is clearly worthy of a dismissal, and persistent fouling is worthy of a yellow. Disgraceful to say the least. I have confidence that Hearts will come out like lightning in the second half! We have to be sturdy at the back, though."

1326: "Usually the Glasgow derbies are the ones with not much football on display but this game has been a stinker. All signs point to a belter in Glasgow tomorrow!" Neil in Erskine, by text to 80295.

1324: Bleugh. A game that started well, in terms of excitement at least, has petered out somewhat. The ball took a thrashing - that's about all you could say. Let's hope for some better football in the second 45 minutes.

Half time
Hearts 0-0 Hibernian

1320: Much better from the Czech Republic midfielder. This time he whacks a left-foot shot at goal but Hibs goalie Mark Brown is well positioned to make the save.

1318: Rudi Skacel was as greedy as Rab Ha' the Glesga Glutton there. He had David Templeton to his left but instead opted to take a shot from outside the box and loops it into the impossibly long arms of Mark Brown.

1316: Mark Brown gratefully clutches the ball, a millisecond after Calum Elliot fails to connect with a diving header.

1312: David Templeton tries to get round three Hibs players in his own half but is, predictably, crowded out.

1310: Hearts are six points behind league leaders Celtic. A win today might give them the belief that they could split the Old Firm.

1307: "Hearts assistant Billy Brown told ESPN that Ian Murray 'knew what he was doing' regarding elbow on Ian Black." Text from Brian Campbell in Gourock to 80295.

1304: Darryl Duffy looks the best bet for a goal for Hibs. He has shown a few decent touches and, were it not for the strength of Marius Zaliukas in shepherding the ball out for a goal-kick, he might have had a close-range shot at Jamie MacDonald.

1302: Kevin Kyle smacks a volley over the bar - the former Sunderland striker was leaning back and the ball from the left by Rudi Skacel was slightly behind him.

1300: "It has gone from being very competitive to very scrappy." BBC Radio Scotland commentator Paul Mitchell

1259: Don't be shy with your texts now, folks. Send us your observations on the game to 80295.

1256: Hearts' David Templeton just does not connect properly with a cross from the right by Eggert Jonsson and, 10 yards from goal, Steven Thicot manages to take the sting out of his weak half-volley.

Yellow card
1255: Valdas Trakys is at least a day late with a challenge from behind on his Lithuanian international team-mate Marius Zaliukas. Daft booking.

1252: Derek Riordan tries a shot-cum-cross as Hibs ease the pressure on their back line.

1249: Kevin Kyle pulls the ball down and seems to have plenty of time to cross into the box. Unfortunately for Hearts, Calum Elliot's attempted flick goes harmlessly wide.

1247: "It's still not settled down. It's 100 miles an hour!" A very excited Allan Preston summarises for BBC Radio Scotland listeners

1245: Rudi Skacel whips in a low cross from the left and big Kevin Kyle completely misses the ball, which runs a yard or so in front of Calum Elliot and out for a Hibs goal-kick.

1244: Ian Black is immediately into the fray again and wins a free-kick when Liam Miller clips him with a high boot.

1243: Thankfully, Ian Black is back on his feet, though looking groggier than a washed-up boxer. "Ian Murray is a lucky, lucky chap. It was a very clumsy challenge." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Allan Preston

Yellow card
Calum Murray brandishes a yellow card to Ian Murray. He whacked Black in the face or throat with his elbow. Now, was it intentional?

1238: A shocking challenge by Ian Murray on Ian Black! Murray led with his arm and flattened poor Black, who is a sorry-looking figure on the turf.

1236: Derek Riordan takes a Hibs free-kick from the edge of the Hearts penalty box but hits it straight at Jamie MacDonald.

1234: A fiery start to the match, with both teams prepared for a physical encounter, by the looks of it.

1232: "A cacophony of noise will greet referee Calum Murray's whistle." BBC Radio Scotland commentator Paul Mitchell

1229: The teams head on to the pitch. Don't forget, we have another two derbies this afternoon in Scotland's north-east and in Lanarkshire.

1228: Just two minutes to kick-off at Gorgie Road. Hearts are a massive 20 points ahead of Hibs, an astonishing gap.

1226: Well, does it feel like the afternoon after the morning after the night before? Or were you in your beddy baw-baws nice and early before Hogmanay Live hit the screens on BBC One Scotland? Just a nibble of shortbread, was it, with a thimbleful of blackcurrant wine? Whatever, I'm glad you can join me today.

1224: And Colin Calderwood's Hibernian line up with: Brown, Thicot, Hanlon, Dickoh, Grounds, De Graaf, Miller, Murray, Riordan, Duffy, Trakys. Subs: Smith, Nish, Wotherspoon, Galbraith, Zemmama, Rankin, Hogg.

1222: So, Hearts go with the following players for the big derby match: MacDonald, Palazuelos, Zaliukas, Bouzid, Jonsson, Templeton, Black, Mrowiec, Skacel, Kyle, Elliot. Subs: Balogh, Wallace, Obua, Stevenson, Novikovas, Glen, Craig Thomson.

1219: My colleague Chris McLaughlin has just asked Colin Calderwood about Bamba's exit to Leicester: "There's some sort of agreement between the clubs. We have allowed him to go down there and hold discussions," was Calderwood's reply. And asked whether he had room for manoeuvre in the January transfer market, the Hibs manager replied: "Plenty."

1218: Sol Bamba's absence is one of five changes made by Hibs boss Colin Calderwood, despite his side's spirited midweek comeback to draw 2-2 with Dundee United. Michael Hart, Lewis Stevenson, David Wotherspoon and Danny Galbraith are the others to drop out, with Steven Thicot, Jonathan Grounds, Darryl Duffy, Liam Miller and Valdas Trakys starting in their places.

1216: Hearts make just one change from the side that defeated St Mirren 2-0. In-form winger Rudi Skacel returns to the starting line-up after missing out in midweek with a slight calf tear, with Ryan Stevenson dropping to the bench.

1215: One man who is not in the Hibs line-up for their trip across Edinburgh is centre-half Sol Bamba, who is about to sign for Championship side Leicester City.

1210: Happy New Year to you all! Welcome to the live text commentary of Hearts v Hibs at Tynecastle.
