Dundee and Dundee United to play fundraising derby
Desn Park will be the venue for the Tayside fundraising derby match on 6 December
Dundee and Dundee United have set Monday 6 December as the date for their fundraising derby match.
The game will be played at Dens Park, with proceeds being split in half between the Tayside clubs.
Dundee will use their share of the money to help the First Division club get out of administration, while United will boost their youth programme funds.
The Dark Blues entered administration in October after failing to negotiate a deal over a £420,000 tax bill.
The clubs played a similar match 2009, with around 8,000 fans attending and it is anticipated a similar crowd will attend December's encounter.
Dundee manager Gordon Chisholm and his assistant Billy Dodds were made redundant when the club appointed administrator Bryan Jackson to handle business affairs last month.
Playing staff also laid-off included Brian Kerr, Mickael Antoine-Curier, Eric Paton, Dominic Shimmin, Njazi Kuqi, Paul McHale, Scott Fox, Colin McMenamin and Charlie Grant.
The Dens Park club were subsequently served with a 25-point penalty by the Scottish Football League, which is currently under appeal, and have also been banned from signing any new players until they exit administration.
The deduction will leave the Dark Blues bottom of the First Division, facing a major task to save their Division One status or succumb to relegation.
Dundee's benefactor Calum Melville invested about £1.3m in the club since he became involved in March 2009.
He resigned from the Dens Park board in September 2010, but lodged £200,000 as part-payment for the outstanding tax arrears.
Dundee also went into administration in 2003 when they were in the Scottish Premier League.
