Jure Travner's late strike secured victory for the Buddies
Jure Travner's injury-time goal against Aberdeen secured victory for St Mirren.
The Buddies had taken the lead in the 28th minute through Marc McAusland and they held onto their advantage until after the break.
Aberdeen equalised through Rory McArdle with little over half an hour remaining of an entertaining clash.
And both sides looked to have settled for a share of the spoils until Travner drilled home deep into injury-time to give Danny Lennon's side full points.
St Mirren were the first to threaten when David Van Zanten fired in a shot from the edge of the area which hit off Aaron Mooy.
Chris Maguire spurned a chance for the Dons when he sent his effort over the bar from Sone Aluko's free-kick.
The Buddies pressed and Michael Higdon fired over following good work by Mooy and Paul McGowan.
And the hosts broke the deadlock just before the half-hour mark when McAusland rose to meet Mooy's corner from the right and power a header past Mark Howard.
Aberdeen restored parity in the second half after being awarded a free kick for a foul on Maguire.
Paul Hartley drilled in the set piece and although Maguire failed to connect, it fell to McArdle who rammed the ball home.
Hartley blazed over the bar after a Michael Paton corner five minutes from time, while Travner saw a diagonal free-kick from just outside the penalty area whistle past the left-hand post.
However, the on-loan Watford midfielder netted a dramatic winner deep into injury time, skipping past substitute Paton and drilling the ball into the bottom corner of the net.
