Hayes scored the equaliser against St Johnstone at Caledonian Stadium
Jonny Hayes grabbed an equaliser against the run of play to give Inverness Caledonian Thistle a draw at home to St Johnstone.
The Perth side had taken the lead after just eight minutes when Collin Samuel prodded home an Alan Maybury cross.
Sam Parkin missed a good chance to extend the lead and Liam Craig also went close for the visitors.
But Hayes slipped in the equaliser after 71 minutes and Adam Rooney went close to stealing a victory.
Russell Duncan had dropped out for Inverness, to be replaced with fit-again on-loan Hibs full-back Kevin McCann, with Dani Sanchez recovering to take his place on the bench.
Graeme Smith replaced Peter Enckelman in St Johnstone's goal as the former Aston Villa man was relegated to the bench along with Jennison Myrie-Williams, who had his place taken by Liam Craig.

There was also a start for Andy Jackson, in for Murray Davidson, and the re-organised visitors took an eighth-minute lead having gone into the game with three wins from their last four outings.
Maybury's long, cross-field ball found Samuel, who stole in at the back post to beat Ryan Esson with a crisp finish into the far corner.
Parkin had a chance to put St Johnstone into a two-goal lead as Chris Millar's through-ball sent him racing in on goal.
But, with only Esson to beat, the striker struck his effort straight into the body of the onrushing goalkeeper.
A thunderbolt from Liam Craig almost caught out Esson as he hurled himself across goal only to see the ball narrowly go the wrong side of the upright.
There was, however, one scare for St Johnstone before the interval when Ross Tokely headed a Stuart Duff corner back across goal and the ball eventually landed at the feet of Rooney, but the striker miscued his effort.
St Johnstone continued to be the better side, but there was more cut and thrust about Inverness, who began to exert some pressure on the visitors for the first time in the match.
Visiting substitute Marcus Haber almost had an instant impact as he drove into the box and cut the ball back for Craig, but he blazed his effort high over the crossbar.
Shortly after Smith had done well to deny Rooney from close range, Inverness equalised in the 71st minute.
Foran's wonderfully weighted through-ball was perfect for Hayes, who did well to slip the ball past Smith.
Inverness were now on the ascendancy and, from a Duff cross, Grant Munro headed over from six yards.
Rooney was next to go close with his head, this time glancing on a Nick Ross ball into the box only to see it bounce just a yard past the upright.
