1420: Hibs record a victory with a rip-roaring comeback at Fir Park to bring the opening weekend of the new Scottish Premier League season to an entertaining close. Highlights of yesterday's five games will be available on our website from 1800 BST today. Hibs fans can see their victory from midnight tonight. Enjoy what's left of your weekend. Cheers!
1411: "We should've been well ahead at half-time and second half we didn't do enough to stay in the game. Hibs' equaliser was a massive blow, but the game should've been out of sight by then. We didn't maintain our dominance and paid the penalty. Any neutral watching would say there was nothing between the two sides and I think that'll remain the case throughout the season." Motherwell manager Craig Brown
1408: Dundee United and BBC Radio Scotland pundit Peter Houston feels Motherwell were unlucky to lose this afternoon and pinpoints Liam Miller as the man who made the difference.
1403: "In the first half it was all Motherwell. Then we got a foothold in the game and started playing some football. But we've got goals in our team and we're spirited. Their keeper has produced two or three great saves and I'm delighted we've picked up three points" Hibs manager John Hughes
1400: "Motherwell didn't take their chances and we came back into it in the second half. I'm disappointed not to have scored myself, but am happy with three assists and the victory. We finished fourth last season and we want to finish higher this season. I'm enjoying it at Hibs and we've got a great bunch of lads." Hibs striker Derek Riordan
1355: Those of a Motherwell persuasion will be rubbing their eyes in disbelief. They swarmed all over Hibs in the first half but John Hughes's men showed their mettle to come roaring back into the game to seal victory.
1353: FULL-TIME MOTHERWELL 2-3 HIBS
1352: Derek Riordan relieves the pressure on Hibs, launching the ball deep into the Motherwell half and the visitors force a corner. Hibs are seconds away from victory...
1351: The Motherwell supporters inside Fir Park are urging their side on for one final push to salvage a point. But Hibs are lashing the ball high into the clear blue sky and away from Graham Stack's goal.
1350: David Wotherspoon serves up a great chance for Derek Riordan to seal it for Hibs, but the striker screws his effort wide. We're into three minutes of added time.
1349: "Desperate measures now for Motherwell" Dundee United manager and BBC Radio Scotland pundit Peter Houston
1346: Motherwell's forays into Hibs territory are becoming increasingly desperate. Nick Blackman sends a header wide of goal from about 16 yards. Esteban Casagolda comes on to make his 'Well debut, replacing Chris Humphrey.
1342: "Time is running out for Motherwell here" BBC Radio Scotland commentator Rob Maclean
1341: We're into the last 10 minutes at Fir Park, Hibs stretch the Motherwell rearguard with Derek Riordan and Anthony Stokes exchanging passes but the hosts clear the danger.
1339: Play is raging from end to end and both sides look capable of scoring/conceding more goals here. Derek Riordan, who seems to be everywhere at the moment, sends a shot a foot over the bar as Hibs press for a fourth. Tremendous stuff!
Motherwell goal: Hang on a minute, these two sides played out a 6-6 draw at this very venue at Fir Park last May. Lightening won't strike twice, surely? Colin Nish tugs the shirt of 'Well substitute Nick Blackman and referee Craig Thomson points to the spot. Jamie Murphy does the business with the penalty and it's game on!
Hibernian goal: What a turnaround at Fir Park: as Motherwell press for an equaliser, Hibs break up the pitch in a lightening counter attack. Derek Riordan finds Liam Miller and the midfielder drills the ball through Darren Randolph's legs into the net.
1328: Motherwell fans howl for a free-kick as Hibs defender Chris Hogg grapples with John Sutton but referee Craig Thomson waves play on.
1327: Motherwell have a little under 25 minutes to salvage something from a game they completely dominated in the first half. Hibs are looking menacing on the counter attack.
Hibernian goal: If Hibs secure maximum points at Fir Park today then they should be issued with black & white striped uniforms and swag bags. Derek Riordan's cross finds Paul Hanlon unmarked at the back post and he bundles the ball home from close range. A real sore one for Motherwell as the away fans burst into song.
1321: Motherwell come within inches to retaking the lead. Chris Humphrey's centre comes back off the post and John Sutton heads just wide of Graham Stack's post after Hibs failed to clear their lines.
1316: "Entertaining start to the second half. It is beginning to open up and there are more chances at both ends. Exciting stuff" Dundee United manager and BBC Radio Scotland pundit Peter Houston
1312: "Hibs are getting bodies into the penalty area and are starting to make passes." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Craig Paterson
1310: 'Well defender Mark Reynolds sends a 20-yard shot just wide of Stack's right-hand post. Play rages up the other end and Darren Randolph brilliantly tips Anthony Stokes's shot away. Great stuff at Fir Park!
1308: Motherwell midfielder Keith Lasley finds Jamie Murphy with a superb cross-field pass but Murphy's shot is easily gathered by Graham Stack in the Hibs goal.
1307: "It is the same old stories. If anybody wants any of our players, please get in touch instead of going through the media. As I have said before, the only club to be in touch this summer were Middlesbrough, who made an enquiry about Craig Conway and I told him about it. Rangers have not made any enquiries about David Goodwillie." Dundee United manager Peter Houston on BBC Radio Scotland when pressed on weekend transfer speculation.
1306: Motherwell force an early corner as Sol Bamba clears a long ball behind Graham Stack's goal but the hosts fail to profit.
1305: Hibs get the second half under way.
1300: "Church Mice are poor, not quiet, Thomas. Just thought you would like to know" via anonymous text on 80295 I'm mixing up a church mouse and a dormouse - I stand, or sit, corrected!
Hibernian goal: Motherwell fans, look away now. After outplaying Hibs for 45 minutes, Anthony Stokes pops up to level for the visitors. Derek Riordan's free-kick causes havoc in the 'Well defence and Stokes drills home from close range. Will Yogi still be a bear with a sore head in the Hibs dressing room at the break?
1248: We're into two minutes of injury time at Fir Park and 'Well still lead courtesy of John Sutton's predatory strike.
1245:My Sport is quieter than a church mouse on a sponsored silence. Anyone out there care to let rip on the action so far?
1244: Three minutes until the break and it's an afternoon stroll in the sunshine for Motherwell.
1239: Hibs midfielder Kevin McBride lashes a shot at goal from 16 yards but 'Well keeper Darren Randolph is equal to it and claws the ball away. Much more like it from John Hughes's men.
1237: Tom Hateley Snr, former Rangers and England striker Mark, is in the stand at Fir Park. Hibs could probably do with his aerial threat at the moment.
1235: "Every second ball in the middle areas are being won by Motherwell. Hibs are wanting time on the ball and Motherwell are not allowing them that" Dundee United manager and BBC Radio Scotland pundit Peter Houston
1233: We've just past the half-hour mark at Fir Park and the hosts appear content with their one-goal lead. Hibs will have to bare their teeth if they're to get back into this game.
1232: John Sutton takes a quick throw in to release Tom Hateley down the right but the rampaging Sol Bamba is alert to the danger and clears for Hibs.
1230: Motherwell, tenacious in the tackle, are preventing Hibs from settling in midfield. Despite Riordan and Stokes looking dangerous, the visitors haven't hit their stride.
1228: Derek Riordan cleverly engineers some space inside the penalty area but 'Well clear the ball just as Anthony Stokes and Colin Nish look to pounce. The game is warming up nicely!
1226: Motherwell are first to every ball at the moment and look likely to add to their lead. Plenty to ponder for Yogi in the Lanarkshire sun.
1224: "There's no fluency about the Hibs play so far." BBC Radio Scotland commentator Rob Maclean
1222: But Riordan, described by BBC Scotland pundit Pat Nevin as the most natural finisher in Scotland's top flight, sends his effort high over the bar.
1221: Hibs have a chance here... Derek Riordan has a free-kick about 30 yards out after Anthony Stokes is fouled.
1219: Craig Brown's men appear to be taking their impressive Europa League form into their league campaign: Murphy and Sutton are looking a handful going forward and their defence is looking miserly.
1218: "It has been Hibs' Achilles heel in pre-season - losing goals too easily - and there it is again." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Craig Paterson
Motherwell goal: Craig Brown's side take the lead with effectively their first real attack of the game. Jamie Murphy sends in a wicked cross from the left and John Sutton steals a march on the statuesque Hibs defence to feather the ball past the helpless Stack.
1211: Jamie Murphy cuts in menacingly from the left wing but his shot, while on target, fails to seriously trouble Graham Stack in the Hibs goal.
1210: Motherwell striker John Sutton looks for a foul after appearing to be nudged in the back by Edwin De Graaf but referee Craig Thomson is having none of it.
1209: Keith Lasley clatters Sol Bamba but the Ivory Coast international dusts himself down and gets up with minimal fuss. It's good to see a player get on with it after being fouled rather than execute a few rolls for effect...
1207: The first chance of the game falls to Anthony Stokes, the Irishman finds himself free in the box after Mark Reynolds stumbles in the box. But his low shot is brilliantly saved by Darren Randolph, who even this early in his 'Well career looks a superb keeper.
1204: Motherwell defender Stephen Craigan tries to find Jamie Murphy with an ambitious long ball but it skips away from 'Well's leading European goalscorer.
1203: We're under way at Fir Park.
1201: Fit-again goalkeeper Graham Stack comes in for the visitors, Graeme Smith dropping out following the home defeat against Maribor in the Europa League. strikers Derek Riordan, Anthony Stokes and Colin Nish all start for Hibs.
1159: Motherwell keep new strikers Nick Blackman and Esteban Casagolda on the bench. Craig Brown picks the same team that beat Aalesund 3-0 in the Europa League.
1157: The sun is beating down above Fir Park as both sides make their way onto the pitch.
1156: Remember, get your prediction in for today using our new shiny BBC Predictor
1151: I'm not sure if my frazzled fingers could bear that kind of relentless pummelling served up by THAT incredible game but here's hoping for another goalfest.
1148: 'Well host Hibs at Fir Park to bring the opening weekend of the new SPL season to a close. Now, the last time these sides met on league duty they shared 12 goals - yes 12 - as the Steelmen came storming back from 4-1 down to draw 6-6.
