The Andrew Ellis takeover of Rangers has been agreed in principle and could be completed by Friday afternoon.

The £33m deal, partly funded with help from Middle East backers, will all but wipe out the club's debt.

Current owner Sir David Murray would receive just £3m from the sale. (Daily Mail)
