By Keir Murray
2139: Many thanks for joining me tonight. I hope you enjoyed the match. If you are allowed to stay up until midnight, catch the highlights then. Bye for now.
Ayr United 0-2 Raith Rovers Clyde 0-2 Alloa
2136: So that means Aberdeen are still only nine points clear of bottom side Falkirk, while Rangers need two more wins at most to win the Scottish Premier League.
Rangers 3-1 Aberdeen
2135: And in a similar vein, big Zander Diamond is well positioned at the edge of the box but dinks the ball straight out of play.
2133: Jerel Ifil's cross goes into the Broomloan Stand behind Allan McGregor's goal. A wasted opportunity for the Dons to pull a goal back.
2132: Time is almost up at Ibrox. We're into injury time, of which there are two minutes.
GOAL Clyde 0-2 Alloa (Prunty)
2131: Charlie Mulgrew's corner is hit too low and Rangers clear the ball to the halfway line.
2128: Well done, Mark McGhee. Surely the right thing to do is give the young players a taste of the action.
2126: Young Fraser Fyvie comes on for the Dons' Davide Grassi and Paul Marshall takes to the field for Sone Aluko. Why, it's like a high school common room!
2125: Grimmer makes a run into the box but Davide Grassi must have been eating too much raw liver - his pass has way too much pace for the youngster.
2123: Kenny Miller breaks at speed on the left but his ball into the box is too close to Jamie Langfield, who collects gratefully.
2122: Baby-faced Jack Grimmer comes on for Aberdeen's Steven MacLean.
Whoody on My Sport has his claws out: "Got to laugh at Lynette. One goal shows he can play? Don't what game she's a fan of, but it sure ain't football. But well done big Kyle, he's now managed to draw level on goals with Glen Loovens."
Danny Wilson has a clear header from a Steven Davis corner, knocking the ball down for Kenny Miller who scores his 19th goal of the season from close range.
GOAL Rangers 3-1 Aberdeen (Miller)
2117: Walter Smith, Ally McCoist and Kenny McDowall are deep in thought in the technical area. Mackie's goal has set a cat amongst the pigeons.
We have to include this text to 80295 from Lynette in Ballyclare: "Well, didn't I tell you lot last week big Kyle could play!! And a goal as well. Happy days." Yep, Lynette, you did.
A fantastic response by the Dons! Steven MacLean makes an intelligent run into the box on the right and his low cross invites Darren Mackie to slide in to bring his team right back into the game.
GOAL Rangers 2-1 Aberdeen (Mackie)
2110: The big striker has had a long time to practise his celebration routine - he opted for a Peter Crouch-like robot dance.
It's another great goal from a Northern Ireland international. This time it's Kyle Lafferty, who burst down the inside-right channel and hit a low shot just inside the post.
GOAL Rangers 2-0 Aberdeen (Lafferty)
2107: This is a good spell for the visitors. Rangers are under pressure.
2106: Dons captain Mark Kerr pings a lovely pass down the middle to Steven MacLean but the striker is inches away from connecting with his head eight yards from Allan McGregor's goal.
2103: Kenny Miller has the chance to play in Steven Davis on the penalty spot, but his lofted pass is cut out.
2059: Kyle Lafferty turns provider in Rangers' next attack as he cuts the ball back for Sasa Papac but the full-back's effort is woefully off target.
2057: Steven Davis clips a cross to the back post and Kyle Lafferty heads over the Aberdeen bar.
2055: Rangers are pressing Aberdeen deep into the visitors' half but the Dons defence are keeping the hosts at bay so far in the second half.
2050: Young Mulgrew must be a wealthy man, what with all this land that he owns. He seems to have territory all over Scotland. In any case, Rangers clear the danger.
2049: A free kick for Aberdeen in..."Charlie Mulgrew territory".
2048: The second half kick off, with the visitors shooting in the direction of their own fans.
2047: Aberdeen are out first for the second half. Let's hope we see some more goals of the quality of Steven Davis's strike.
DadosBandage on My Sport "Some strike by Davis. Hopefully Boyd gets last 25 mins to try and get SPL goal 100."
2034: Both teams deserve credit for going at it in the first half at Ibrox. Surely there will have to be some substitutions in the second half if the match continues at this pace.
2031: Half-time pies and beef-flavoured drinks are being prepared...
2029: Good counter-attack by Steven Whittaker and Steven Davis for Rangers is thwarted by the impressive Charlie Mulgrew.
2027: A half-chance for Aberdeen is wasted as Rangers get bodies back to block the shot.
2025: A long free-kick by Charlie Mulgrew is cleared by the home defence. Aberdeen are finding it difficult to get within shooting distance.
2023: Rangers' Kenny Miller motors down the right wing and crosses for Kyle Lafferty, but the striker just fails to connect.
2022: We'll have online highlights available at midnight. I'm thinking it might be an idea to play them in slow motion - that way, the match might look like it is being played at normal speed.
2020: Good to see the Dons fans standing up to support their team. They really do have an excellent travelling fan base, though their patience has been stretched this season.
2017: However, Sone Aluko, much missed by the Dons this season (according to manager Mark McGhee) could take Steven Whittaker for pace. All Aluko needs is a target man in the box. Where's Lee Miller when you need him?!
2016: Rangers look more lively up front this evening. Kenny Miller and Steven Naismith look as sharp as a pair of tacks.
2014: Steven MacLean receives the ball from Michael Paton and sends it straight out of play. Aberdeen will need to do better on the ball than that.
GOAL Clyde 0-1 Alloa (Noble)
Steven Davis rifles the ball into the top right-hand corner of the net from 20 yards, after a simple set-up by Steven Naismith.
GOAL Rangers 1-0 Aberdeen (Davis)
2008: Lots of meaty challenges flying in - Davide Grassi on Maurice Edu, for example - ouch!
2005: They may be under the cosh here, the Dons, but over the season they are the only team who Rangers have failed to score against in the league this season. There was a 0-0 draw at Ibrox and a 1-0 win for Aberdeen at Pittodrie.
2004: Steven Whittaker is given the chance to inspect the Ibrox turf after a robust challenge by the bold Ricky Foster.
GOAL Ayr United 0-2 Raith Rovers (Williamson)
2000: Some fancy footwork by Sone Aluko leaves Steven Whittaker in a daze, but the Dons winger's delivery is a soccer atrocity.
1959: Down at Somerset Park, Ayr are a goal down and really need some points on the board as they try to avoid the relegation play-offs from the First Division.
1957: Rangers' Steven Davis with the free-kick outside the box but it's over-hit and Danny Wilson has no chance to get on to it at the back post.
1956: Davide Grassi goes into Willie Collum's book for a late tackle on Lee McCulloch.
1954: Aberdeen's Sone Aluko is caught offside, but hoofs the ball over the bar in any case. Let's be charitable - he is just finding his range.
1953: Rangers have Aberdeen pinned back - Charlie Mulgrew has put in a shift already!
GOAL Ayr 0-1 Raith (Murray)
1949: Nice bit of skill by Kyle Lafferty out on the left, cuts into the box and wins a corner for Rangers.
1947: The match has kicked off a bit later than planned. Rangers in blue, Aberdeen in red.
1946: Tina Turner's "Simply the Best" is being belted out over the PA system, which will either have you tapping your feet or spewing into a sick bag, depending on your football persuasion.
1945: The teams make their way out of the tunnel on the pitch, which looks in excellent condition.
1943: Glad you can join me this evening. Whisper it, but it's a nice night in Glasgow. It is neither lashing stair rods nor freezing. What's going on?!
1941: Aberdeen have made three changes after losing to Kilmarnock, with Steven MacLean back from suspension and Darren Mackie and Jerel Ifil also added to the side. Fraser Fyvie - who picked up a knock against Killie - is named among the substitutes, along with Derek Young and Stuart Duff.
1940: So Rangers have made one change from the side that ground out victory over Hamilton at the weekend. Striker Kris Boyd - who has struggled to find the back of the net in recent matches - is named on the bench and Kyle Lafferty is drafted into the starting line-up.
1937: And Aberdeen line up with: Langfield, Diamond, Ifil, Grassi, Foster, Mackie, Kerr, Aluko, Mulgrew, Paton, MacLean. Subs: Nelson, Young, Duff, Marshall, Jack, Fyvie, Grimmer.
1935: The Rangers team is: McGregor, Whittaker, Weir, Wilson, Papac, Davis, McCulloch, Edu, Lafferty, Naismith, Miller. Subs: Alexander, Boyd, Novo, Beasley, Smith, Fleck, Little.
1930: Welcome to tonight's live text commentary on the Scottish Premier League match at Ibrox between Rangers and Aberdeen.
