By Andy Campbell

2126: Well, that's it from me. Thank you for all your contributions and please return to the website on Wednesday evening for live coverage of Rangers v Aberdeen in the Scottish Premier League.

2124: United move eight points clear of fourth-placed Hibernian and to within five of second-placed Celtic. St Johnstone remain three points behind Hearts, who are sixth.

2123: The match is over. Dundee United claim victory with Jon Daly's 83rd-minute goal proving to be the winner after St Johnstone's Liam Craig saw his penalty saved for the hosts.

Full time
2121: FULL-TIME St Johnstone 0-1 Dundee United

2119: St Johnstone defender Danny Grainger comes into collision with Morgaro Gomis as the United player tries to work his way towards goal but the referee waves play on, much to the annoyance of visiting manager Peter Houston.

"We talk about big results and this could be a huge one for United." BBC Radio Scotland pundit John Robertson

2118: The match enters injury time, of which there will be three minutes.

Yellow card
2117: St Johnstone's Kenny Deuchar is cautioned for a clumsy challenge on Craig Conway.

2116: Kenny Deuchar's turn and shot inside the Dundee United box is blocked by Darren Dods.

My Sport
From King_Pascali On My Sport: "What a goal, totally against the run of play, but a good goal none the less."

My Sport
From JodyMorris4England On My Sport: "Wholly undeserved, but that's what happens when you don't take your chances at this level."

Goal description: Morgaro Gomis retrieves the ball on the right and sends a delicious cross onto the head of Jon Daly, who bullets a header into the net.

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
2111: GOAL St Johnstone 0-1 Dundee United (Daly)

2110: We're into the last eight minutes of regulation time and Gavin Swankie is preparing to come on for St Johnstone.

2107: St Johnstone are still looking the more likely to team to score but United are defending stoutly.

2104: Dave MacKay hooks a shot over the Dundee United crossbar. Decent effort by the defender but he just could not keep the shot down.

Yellow card
2102: Referee Steve Conroy books Dundee United's Morgaro Gomis and St Johnstone's Liam Craig after the pair get involved in a tussle.

"Terrific save. Dundee United must breathe a sigh of relief." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Allan Preston

2057: Penalty miss for St Johnstone! Liam Craig steps up to take the spot-kick and strikes it low to the goalkeeper's left but Dusan Pernis makes the save to keep the scores level.

Someone has won a penalty
2056: Penalty for St Johnstone! Paul Dixon trips Dave MacKay in the box and referee Steve Conroy points to the spot.

2054: Liam Craig volleys over the Dundee United crossbar just before both sides make changes as Danny Cadamarteri comes on for United's David Goodwillie and Collin Samuel replaces Saints' Cillian Sheridan.

2053: Dundee United substitute Danny Cadamarteri is going to come on for David Goodwillie.

2049: The Dundee United substitutes, including strikers Francisco Sandaza and Danny Cadamarteri, are warming up on the touchline.

My Sport
From JodyMorris4England On My Sport: "Oh dear - absolutely terrible miss for Duberry. The 606 curse has to take some of the blame there..."

2044: Darren Dods replaces Andy Webster for United seconds before keeper Dusan Pernis flaps at a cross and the ball falls invitingly for Michael Duberry, who blazes his shot wide.

2043: Chris Millar gets to the bye-line and cuts the ball across goal but Keith Watson heads clear for Dundee United.

2042: Chris Millar turns inside the United box and bends a shot into the arms of goalkeeper Dusan Pernis.

2039: Dundee United have started the second half the better of the two sides and Andy Webster has a shot tipped over by keeper Graeme Smith but the defender had already been flagged offside.

My Sport
From JodyMorris4England On My Sport: "Duberry has been a tremendous signing for us this season. Prior to January, our defence was far too vulnerable to pace - Duberry has really helped in that department. A great bit of business from Del, and another reason why we'll be doing well to hold onto him for next season."

2034: There has been a slight change in personnel for the second period but not in either team. Chris Young, who was running the line in the first half, has a calf strain and is now the fourth official, John Beaton taking over assistant referee duties.

2033: The second half kicks off.

My Sport
From 2ndapril2006 On My Sport: "Looking good for Hearts right now. Hopefully United get a goal or two to make sure it remains in our hands on Saturday."

On the evidence of the first half, I'd have to say this game is heading for a scoreless draw. If there's an early goal in the second half, it could open things up a bit.

My Sport
From Glaucon On My Sport: "Quiet tonight Andy. Come on, you have time to give me your prediction!"

Half time
2015: The referee draws the first half to a close. Not much excitement and few chances at either end in the opening 45 minutes.

"The reason we're still at 0-0 is the outstanding centre-half partnerships. Garry Kenneth and Andy Webster for United and Michael Duberry and Steven Anderson for St Johnstone have been excellent." BBC Radio Scotland pundit John Robertson

2008: St Johnstone goalkeeper Graeme Smith ends a period of United pressure by claiming the ball in the air.

2006: Dundee United's attempts to get the ball forward are foiled by several players and the referee getting in the way of the ball.

2004: There are faint cries for a penalty after Dundee United striker Jon Daly goes down in the penalty area under the challenge of Danny Grainger but no spot-kick is awarded.

1956: Filipe Morais' back-post cross is missed by keeper Dusan Pernis and headed back into the goal area by Cillian Sheridan, forcing Andy Webster to head clear on the line as Kenny Deuchar threatens to nudge the ball into the net.

Yellow card
1956: Michael Duberry goes into the referee Steve Conroy's book for felling Craig Conway.

1955: Danny Grainger's whipped cross scuttles towards the back post where Cillian Sheridan is waiting but the forward's downward shot is smothered by United keeper Dusan Pernis.

"Both teams are giving each other so much respect. They're just cancelling each other out at the moment." BBC Radio Scotland pundit John Robertson

1951: Michael Duberry heads the ball down to St Johnstone team-mate Jody Morris but the midfielder's first-time shot is well wide.

1950: Dundee United defender Garry Kenneth makes a hesitant headed clearance but Chris Millar is unable to take advantage as goalkeeper Dusan Pernis claims the ball under pressure.

"I think Derek McInnes will be bitterly disappointed with St Johnstone's set pieces. Their delivery has been really poor." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Allan Preston

1946: Danny Swanson drives at the St Johnstone defence and puts David Goodwillie in on the right but the United striker is forced wide before conceding a goal kick.

1944: David Goodwillie wins a free-kick midway inside the St Johnstone half giving Dundee United the chance to get the ball into the box and, after Paul Dixon's cross is initially cleared, Andy Webster's shot is charged down by Dave MacKay.

1940: Saints win their fifth corner of the first 10 minutes but cannot get an effort on goal.

1939: St Johnstone are putting the Dundee United defence under pressure early on and Liam Craig's ambitious drive is palmed over by goalkeeper Dusan Pernis.

My Sport
From Glaucon On My Sport: "The top two sides in Scotland meet for what should be a cracker. Let's hope for a 4-4 thriller. I'll go for 0-0."

1935: Victory for St Johnstone would lift them into sixth place, level on points with Hearts who have an inferior goal difference.

1932: St Johnstone striker Cillian Sheridan has the game's first effort at goal, shooting wide of the near post.

1931: The match kicks off.

1930: A win for Dundee United would take them eight points clear of fourth-placed Hibernian and to within five points of Celtic.

1929: Here are the teams:
St Johnstone: Smith, MacKay, Duberry, Anderson, Grainger, Morais, Millar, Morris, Craig, Sheridan, Deuchar. Subs: Main, Irvine, Rutkiewicz, Swankie, Samuel, Reynolds, Falkingham.

Dundee Utd: Pernis, Dillon, Kenneth, Webster, Dixon, Swanson, Watson, Gomis, Conway, Goodwillie, Daly. Subs: Banks, Dods, Myrie-Williams, Cadamarteri, Sandaza, Buaben, Kevin Smith.

1928: Tonight's match sees St Johnstone take on Dundee United at McDiarmid Park.

1925: Welcome to tonight's live text commentary.
