New dates for postponed SPL games

St Mirren Park
Weather prevented many of the SPL's festive fixtures taking place

The Scottish Premier League have announced new dates for matches that were called off due to wintry weather.

St Mirren will now play Aberdeen on Tuesday 12 January at 1945 GMT. Hamilton and Dundee United play the day after, with the same kick-off time.

Aberdeen v Falkirk and Hamilton v St Mirren will both be played on Tuesday 19 January, again with 1945 GMT starts.

The following day, Kilmarnock host Celtic at 1930 GMT and Hibernian visit St Johnstone with a 1945 GMT kick-off.

SPL secretary Iain Blair said: "We are aware that this means that some clubs will have a heavy January schedule but our aim has to be to get these games played sooner rather than later.

"It is entirely possible that we could face another very cold spell in February and any more postponements could create a build-up that would make it impossible for us to slot in all the games before the split."
