Jamie Hamill and Michael Higdon tussle as Kilmarnock and Falkirk battle out a 1-1 draw
Falkirk held on for a point after a dramatic encounter with Kilmarnock.
The hosts took the lead through Steve Lovell in the 41st minute, as the ball fell into his path after deflecting off Kilmarnock defender Fraser Wright.
But David Fernandez glanced in his second goal of the season from Willie Gibson's cross to pull Kilmarnock level on 69 minutes.
Kilmarnock dominated the second half and Gavin Skelton had an effort cleared off the line in injury time.
Falkirk manager John Hughes was forced into a defensive reshuffle for the game, with captain Darren Barr suspended and Gerard Aafjes out with a knee injury.
Lee Bullen was drafted in for his first start in three months to partner Tom Scobbie in central defence, while Dean Holden filled the left back role.
The hosts also had to do without Burton O'Brien, with Kevin McBride coming in to replace him.
Kilmarnock made three changes to the side, with French goalkeeper Damien Rascle coming in for the suspened Alan Combe and Wright and Gibson filling in for the injured Danny Invincible and Mehdi Taouil.
Falkirk's Scott Arfield dragged a shot wide from the edge of the penalty area with the first chance of the game.
Twelve minutes in, Kilmarnocks's Allan Russell had a hooked effort blocked 18-yards out by Scobbie.
But the scoring was opened just before half time as McBride's long shot deflected off Grant Murray into the path of Steve Lovell, who slotted the ball beyond Rascle for his eighth goal of the season.
The game heated up after the break with little in the way of shots on goal but a string of bookings for both sides.
But Fernandez pulled the visitors level midway through the second half heading beyond Robert Olejnik in the Falkirk goal.
Donovan Simmonds hit the bar 10 minutes from the end as Kilmarnock applied a late wave of pressure and Skelton had an effort cleared off the line in injury time.
Falkirk manager John Hughes: "Kilmarnock were much the better side in the second half. And we're thankful to have a Tommy Scobbie clearance off the line.
"My boys gave everything but I can understand why the second half wasn't as lively as the first; it's the position that we're in.
"I would have liked three but the point gets us off that losing run.
"I think Jim Jefferies will feel aggrieved especially at the one that was cleared off the line."
Kilmarnock manager Jim Jefferies: "We didn't really get going early on and it was a big game for Falkirk as they haven't won for a while at home.
They probably targeted us to get themselves going. They started better but we had the best chances. That was the one highlight for us.
"David Fernandez was sensational today again, setting up chances.
"We were the better team in the second half, once we got the equaliser. We're a little disappointed that we didn't go on and win it."
