Webster walked out on Hearts in May 2006 |
Andy Webster, Hearts, Rangers and Wigan Athletic look likely to have a long wait before receiving a final ruling on the player's convoluted transfer. Hearts are challenging a tribunal decision to grant just 650,000 for the Scotland defender's move to Wigan.
The Rangers loan signing's case was being heard by the Court of Arbitration of Sport on Wednesday and Thursday.
But a spokesman said: "The final award will probably not be rendered before the end of November 2007."
Webster used Fifa regulations to leave Tynecastle after an established 'protected period' to move on to another country.
Fifa later ordered Webster to pay Hearts 625,000 in compensation, but the Edinburgh club challenged the sum.

Webster, now on loan at Ibrox, told the club website: "The situation has dragged on for quite a while now."
The defender exploited Article 17 of Fifa's transfer rules but was four days late in giving the appropriate 15-day notice.
And the governing body ruled he had broken his Hearts contract in the summer of 2006 "without just cause".
Hearts, however, were unhappy with how the compensation fee was worked out and angry that the player was allowed to make a rapid return to Scotland.
He made just four starts and one substitute appearance for Wigan before moving to Rangers in January.
But injury has restricted Webster, who had agreed a three-year deal at Wigan, to just one game for the Ibrox side.
"The next person that does this will probably have everything sorted in a week - with me it has been over 16 months," he added.
"From my point of view, I have tried to concentrate on football and let the clubs and Fifa sort things out.
"Hopefully, that will lead to my future at Rangers being sorted out."
