SFA & Uefa to investigate Romanov
Hearts owner Vladimir Romanov
Romanov claims bias against his team
The Scottish FA and Uefa are to investigate after Hearts owner Vladimir Romanov criticised the treatment of his club by match officials.

Uefa will examine his comments on referee Yuri Baskakov's handling of the Champions League defeat to AEK Athens.

And the SFA's general purposes committee will look at Romanov's claim that referees were biased against Hearts in the Scottish Cup.

Romanov's comments will be discussed at a meeting on 24 October.

He said on the Hearts website that the Tynecastle side had won the Scottish Cup last season "despite all the efforts and intrigues of referees".

Hearts' majority shareholder had also criticised Baskakov's performance in for the Champions League qualifier in Athens, which Hearts lost 3-0 after having two players sent off.

"We've taken a note of Mr Romanov's comments and we will look at them," said a Uefa spokesman.

"There are a whole range of sanctions we can take, such as a warning, a censure, a fine or a suspension.

"However, as it stands, there is no case and it is not up to us to speculate.

"But we will be looking at his comments, although I cannot say when they will be addressed."
