SPL fixtures announced
Celtic celebrate winning the 2003-04 title
Celtic are the defending Premier League champions
Champions Celtic will unfurl the Scottish Premier League flag at home to Motherwell when the 2004-05 season opens on 7 August.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle mark their rapid rise from the Highland League with a top-flight debut at Livingston.

New Aberdeen boss Jimmy Calderwood must face Rangers at Pittodrie, while Dundee are at home to Hearts.

Kilmarnock travel to Easter Road to take on Hibernian and David Hay's Dunfermline host Dundee United.

The first Old Firm derby of the new campaign will not be long in coming as Celtic play hosts to their city rivals Rangers on 28 August.

The first Edinburgh derby will take place at Tynecastle when Hearts take on Hibernian on 23 October.

The two Dundee clubs will do battle for the first time much earlier as Jim Duffy's Dundee make the short journey down Tannadice Street to play Ian McCall's Dundee United on 14 August.

Calderwood will not have to wait long to face former club Dunfermline, with the Dons travelling to East End Park on 21 August.

And Aberdeen's first 'away' tie with Inverness takes place on 16 October.

Caley Thistle will be playing all their home fixtures at Pittodrie because their own ground does not meet SPL criteria.

On the same day, new Dunfermline manager Hay goes back to former club Livingston.
