Pat Clarke was on target as Dunfermline claimed a opening-day victory over Falkirk despite a penalty miss.
Clarke nodded home Joe Cardle's cross in the 16th minute to seal the points.
Pars keeper Chris Smith tipped Mark Millar's 20-yard shot over the bar, and from the corner Thomas Scobbie headed over from six yards.
Cardle was fouled by Jason Marr, but Robert Olejnik parried away Andy Kirk's spot-kick and Brian McLean came close to equalising with a late header.
