Charlie King's penalty gave Brechin a slender lead following the first leg of their Scottish First Division play-off semi-final.

The hosts took the lead in the 10th minute when Rory McAllister's low shot found the bottom corner.

But Airdrie equalised five minutes later after Johh Baird fed Scott Gemmill to rifle home.

Robert Donnelly fouled McAllister in the box and King found the net to secure victory for Brechin.
