A Scott Dalziel strike was enough to ensure Stenhousemuir narrowly avoided relegation after a draw with Peterhead.
The home side started brightly and Dalziel gave them the lead after 13 minutes with a close-range header from Craig Malloy's left-wing cross.
However, Paul Emslie set up a tense finish 18 minutes from time, tapping Daniel Moore's free-kick home.
Dalziel should have ended the game six minutes from time but Ryan Strachan threw himself in front of his effort.
Instead, Stenhousemuir were left to rely on Arbroath drawing with East Fife to survive.
