Alloa Athletic 3-1 Cowdenbeath

Alloa's Chris Craig and a fan share disappointment
Alloa players and fans were left disappointed at Recreation Park

Alloa Athletic missed out on the Second Division title on goal difference after fighting back from behind to defeat 10-man Cowdenbeath at Recreation Park.

The visitors opened the scoring when Brian Fairbairn's right-wing cross was diverted into the net by John Dempster.

Bryan Prunty fired home from Scott Walker`s excellent through ball after 74 minutes to equalise.

Andrew Scott converted a penalty after Prunty was brought down and followed that up with an 83rd-minute strike.

It was not enough to deny Stirling Albion the title after their 1-1 draw away to Stirling Albion.

Alloa and Cowdenbeath meet again in the play-offs, with First Division side Airdrie United facing Brechin City in the other one for a place in the final.
