East Stirlingshire ended Berwick Rangers' six-match unbeaten run and leapfrogged them into second place thanks to Simon Lynch's winner.
The winning goal came after 61 minutes when Jamie Stephenson's fine pass set up Lynch to score from 10 yards.
Berwick's Steve Radzynski headed against the crossbar and Andy McLean had an effort cleared off the line.
But Shire could have won the Division Three game by a wider margin had Andy Rogers not missed an open goal.
