Steven Milne's second-half double saw St Johnstone secure a comfortable win over a stubborn Airdrie United side.
Saints took an early lead as Gavin Swankie cut in from the right flank and shot home at the near post.
David Nixon grabbed an equaliser three minutes into the second half but Milne slammed in a loose ball on 56 minutes.
Saints hit the woodwork through Derek Holmes and Milne added another easy tap-in following some good work from substitute Peter MacDonald.
