Amoruso has been at Rangers for six years |
Lorenzo Amoruso has admitted that he expects to leave Rangers this summer - and claims the club has accepted Blackburn's 1.5m offer for him. The Italian defender, who has seen moves to Sunderland and West Ham fall through in the past, has been at Rangers for six years.
But he said that the financial position at Ibrox made Blackburn's bid too attractive to turn down.
"There have been times when it has looked as if I would be leaving but in my heart of hearts I did not believe I would go," said Amoruso, who scored the winner against Dundee in the Tennent's Scottish Cup final on Saturday.
"This time it's different. The club have accepted an offer from Blackburn and other clubs are interested. This time I think I will have to leave.
Whatever I do now it's going to be a big move |
"The club's financial position means they want to take the money for me and I think it will happen.
"I have not signed anything yet but I think I've played my last game for Rangers.
"I am going home on Wednesday and will spend 10 days with friends and family thinking over everything but I think it is over and if it is, my last day could not have gone any better."
Amoruso's goal at Hampden Park ensured Rangers enjoyed a clean-sweep of domestic honours this season.
"Right now I am just so tired because it has been a crazy end to the season," he told the Daily Record newspaper.
"I don't want to do something on the spur of the moment that I will regret.
"Whatever I do now, whoever I sign for, it's going to be a big move.
"If I am going to leave Rangers it will be the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my career."
