| Tuesday, 11 February, 2003, 23:50 GMT Alloa and Queens share six goals Alloa 3-3 Queen of the South Bottom club Alloa battled back three times to keep their First Division survival hopes alive against Queen of the South. From the penalty spot, Andy Seaton cancelled out John O'Neill's opener before the Alloa man scored a second spot-kick three minutes before the break after Peter Weatherson had given Queens another lead. Weatherson looked to have given the Doonhamers all three points in the 62nd minute before Steven Thomson struck a valuable equaliser with 15 minutes remaining. The home side almost took the lead in the first minute through debutant Ryan Davidson. The striker took his first touch of the game 20 yards from goal and, with his second, drove a low shot which Queens' keeper Colin Scott scrambled clear at the second attempt. Two minutes later, as the home side pressed for the opener, striker Gareth Hutchison headed a Seaton corner off the bar. But for all Alloa's early pressure, it was the visitors who took the lead with their first attack on goal in the eighth minute. Winger Brian McLaughlin swung a cross in from the left and John O'Neill headed powerfully past Alloa keeper Myles Hogarth from six yards out. But, two minutes later, Alloa were level after being awarded a penalty when Davidson was fouled by Queens defender Jim Thomson and Seaton made no mistake from the spot. The visitors regained the lead in the 21st minute. Defender Andy Aitken's cross was chested down by O'Neill to the incoming Weatherson, who thundered the ball low past Hogarth from 20 yards. Alloa continued to press and they were awarded a second penalty in the 42nd minute when Aitken brought down Ross Hamilton and Seaton again slotted the ball into the corner. The game continued apace in the second half and O'Neill had to head off the line from a Seaton corner. The home side came closer in the 51st minute from another Seaton corner when Thomson's header from 14 yards crashed off the bar before being cleared to safety. Then the Dumfries side raced up the park and O'Neill's low drive from 20 yards went inches past Hogarth's right-hand post. In the 62nd minute the visitors took the lead in spectacular fashion and it was Weatherson who got his second of the game. The ball arrived at the striker via a Stevie Renicks cross and he volleyed an unstoppable shot past the helpless Hogarth. As the second half continued, the home side battled and Max Christie and Thomson both had efforts blocked by the under-pressure Queens rearguard. Then, in the 75th minute, the game took another twist when Wasps defender Thomson headed past Scott from another Seaton cross and that was how it finished.
