A late Dennis Wyness header separated the sides in a cagey match at Balmoor.
Peterhead's Graeme Sharp drove over the bar early on and Paul Emslie and Martin Bavidge both also passed up chances for the home side.
The visitors offered more threat in the second half with a long-range effort from David Greenhill and a Fraser McLaren header the best of the chances.
However, Wyness rose to head home Martin Bavidge's cross to send the Blue Toon through to the second round.
